Kayla Malec Wins Domestic Violence Case Against Evan Johnson

Justice has been served, says TikTok creator Kayla Malec, following a major update in her highly publicized court case against ex-boyfriend Evan Johnson. In an emotional TikTok posted on May 7, Malec confirmed that she had won her domestic violence case and that Johnson was arrested in front of her following the court hearing.

Standing outside the courthouse, Malec shared her reaction:

“And just like that, justice was served,” she said through tears. “I’m, like, really happy right now. I’ll probably start sobbing.”

What Did Kayla Malec Say About the Case?

Kayla’s TikTok was raw and full of relief. It quickly gained traction online, with fans and fellow creators filling the comments with love and support.

One standout comment came from singer Jacob Sartorious, who wrote:

“KAYLA YOU DID IT!!!!!!!!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”

Another follower added,

“All of the girls who never got justice for their abusers are sobbing while we clap so loudly for you 😭❤️‍🩹.”

Kayla first came forward in April 2025, sharing her story through a series of YouTube videos and TikToks where she accused Evan Johnson of verbal and physical abuse during their nine-month relationship. Her courage to speak up sparked a wave of conversation online, especially among young women who related to her experience.

“I never thought I would experience things I’ve only seen on TV,” Kayla said in her first video. “This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve had to talk about in my life.”

What Did Evan Johnson Say in Response?

After Kayla shared her story, Johnson initially posted his own video responses. In them, he acknowledged that he had done wrong and needed to take responsibility, but he also claimed that Kayla “exaggerates.”

Those videos have since been deleted.

Johnson was first arrested on April 7 in Sumner County, Tennessee, for alleged domestic assault and probation violation. He was released shortly after on a $30,000 bond, and made his first official court appearance on April 22.

What Do We Know About His Sentencing?

As of now, there’s no public information about Evan Johnson’s official sentencing. The Sumner County Courthouse website has not been updated, and no official statement has been released by Johnson’s legal team.

We do know that Johnson is currently in jail, as confirmed by Kayla in her TikTok. Her Campus reached out to the courthouse and his legal representatives, but hadn’t received confirmation at the time of publication.

This story is still developing, and we’ll continue to share updates as new details emerge.
