Diddy Trial: Cassie Testifies Diddy Threatened Kid Cudi and Abused Her
Cassie Ventura gave shocking new testimony in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial on Wednesday. The singer and former longtime partner of Combs detailed disturbing events that included physical threats, violent outbursts, and an alleged targeted attack on rapper Kid Cudi.
Combs, the hip-hop mogul behind Bad Boy Records, is facing a potential life sentence if convicted. The trial is taking place in New York, where multiple witnesses and victims are stepping forward with emotional and detailed accounts of abuse.
Cassie Reveals Relationship With Kid Cudi Sparked Diddy’s Rage
During her time on the stand, Cassie revealed that she briefly dated rapper Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi) in 2011. According to her testimony, the relationship began after years of friendship and professional collaboration, at a time when her relationship with Combs was on shaky ground.
Cassie said Combs discovered the relationship during what she called a “freak-off,” referring to a multi-day sex party she was part of. She claimed Combs found emails about the relationship by going through her phone, which led to a violent outburst.
Alleged Corkscrew Incident and Violent Threats
After reading her emails, Combs allegedly became enraged. Cassie testified that he placed a wine corkscrew between his fingers and lunged at her, his eyes “blacked out” in anger. Though he didn’t injure her physically at that moment, she fled the hotel in fear.
Cassie said she contacted Kid Cudi using a burner phone she kept hidden from Combs. Cudi picked her up, and she stayed at his home that night.
Later that same day, Cassie went back to Combs’ home to try to resolve things. She said he was “irate” and made direct threats to both her and Cudi, telling her he was going to hurt them. When she attempted to leave, Cassie said Combs kicked her in the back, causing bruising and a fall to the floor.
Email and Photos Support Cassie’s Claims
In court, prosecutors presented an email Cassie sent to her mother on December 23, 2011, which included one of Combs’ staff members in copy. In the message, she warned that Combs had threatened to release two explicit tapes of her and had plans to publish one of the “freak-off” videos on Christmas Day.
After traveling to Connecticut for the holidays, Cassie’s mother photographed the bruises on her lower back. These photos were shown in court as evidence.
Cassie Says Diddy Threatened to Blow Up Kid Cudi’s Car
Cassie also testified about another violent threat. In February 2012, she said Combs told her he was “going to blow up Kid Cudi’s car.” Not long after, Cudi’s vehicle exploded in his driveway. Representatives for Kid Cudi confirmed the story to The New York Times, backing Cassie’s account of the alleged attack.
This revelation adds a new layer to the case, suggesting possible premeditated violence against those involved with Cassie during and after her time with Combs.
Cassie’s Lawsuit Opened the Door to Federal Charges
Cassie’s testimony builds on her civil lawsuit filed in November 2023. That lawsuit included accusations of abuse, sex trafficking, and emotional control spanning several years. The civil case was settled swiftly, but her cooperation with federal authorities opened the path for the current criminal charges against Combs.
Now, as she continues to testify, her detailed stories are central to the prosecution’s case.
