Trotter to leave Midland Center for the Arts in March

Midland Center for the Arts President and C.E.O. Terri Trotter will step down in March from her current post, the theatre and arts museum announced on Tuesday. Ms. Trotter accepted a position leading The Jones Trust, a philanthropic private foundation in Arkansas.

The Center’s board of directors has indicated that it will conduct a national search for Ms. Trotter’s replacement and that they are reviewing which search firms to hire for that purpose.

“Terri has made an outstanding and lasting mark on the Center, our Midland community and the entire Great Lakes Bay region,” said the Center’s board chair, Lisa Ungerleider. “Her tenure with the Center has been one of vision, action and uplifting transformation. The Center will continue to benefit from her inspired leadership far into the future.”

The Center has reopened for indoor performances after a prolonged hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many holiday programs are scheduled, in addition to the Center’s Broadway Series, which kicks off in January. The Center’s operations were heavily affected by the 2020 flood of the Tittabawassee River.
