MIDLAND, Mich. — Patrick Frazee has been appointed to serve on the Midland Public Schools Board of Education. The board unanimously voted to appoint Mr. Frazee to replace former board member Pam Singer, who resigned from her seat June 30 after eight years.

Mr. Frazee was among four potential candidates selected for interview by the board, out of ten total applicants.

Having formerly served on the M.P.S. board for four years before losing re-election in 2018, Mr. Frazee also served as Director of Wastewater Services for the City of Midland, and currently works for the City of Saginaw as Deputy Director of Drinking Water and Wastewater Treatment.

Mr. Frazee told the City Paper that his love for kids, education, and the local community was what motivated him to apply for the vacant seat.

“The chance to come back and be a part of this community – I’m very grateful for it,” Mr. Frazee said.

Ms. Singer’s term expires December 31, 2022. Mr. Frazee told the City Paper that he intends to run for re-election to a full term.

Board president Scott McFarland also issued a declaration recognizing Ms. Singer’s eight years of service on the board of education. During her tenure, Ms. Singer served on multiple positions, including board president.

“It has been, really, an absolute pleasure working with Pam over the last eight years. She has been just a tireless advocate for kids, putting herself second to everything school-related,” Mr. McFarland said.
