Stafford, St. John High School Class of 2017 Graduate Troy Devine, 28, Passes Away Leaving His Parents, Chrissy and Darin Devine
Troy Andrew Devine, 28, of St. John, Kansas, passed away on June 5, 2026, at Integris Health Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.
Born on April 8, 1998, in Great Bend, Kansas, Troy spent his entire life in Stafford County, where he built lasting relationships and left a mark on everyone who knew him.
Troy was the son of Darin and Chrissy (Eversole) Devine. He grew up in the St. John community and graduated from St. John High School in 2017. After graduation, he got to work building a career with his hands and his dedication.
He worked as a farmhand for Cornwell Farms before going on to become a Foreman for Dig-Rite Hydro Excavation, a role that reflected his strong work ethic and the trust others placed in him.
More than his career, Troy was known as a father. His young son, Weston Devine, was one of the central parts of his life. In honor of that bond, the family has asked that memorials be directed to the Weston Devine Education Fund in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 34, St. John, KS 67576. It is a fitting tribute to a young man who clearly cared about the future he was building for his child.
Troy is survived by his mother, Chrissy (Mark) Green, of St. John, and his father, Darin Devine, of Larned. His son Weston Devine and Weston’s mother, Rachel Bussen, reside in Hutchinson. He is also survived by his brother Austin (Brooke) White of Cimarron, and his sister Makayla, along with her fiancé Kelsey Valenzuela, of Stafford.
His grandparents Eddie and Bettina Devine of Seward, Wade and Rae Eversole of Sun City, Arizona, and Jimmy Green of St. John also survive him. Troy leaves behind nieces Helen, Esther, and Eden, and a nephew Vincent, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who will feel his absence deeply.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Josephine Snell, Kay Leatherman, and Elaine Green.
Services for Troy will begin with a visitation on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Minnis Chapel in St. John. The Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the IOOF Lodge, located at 700 E. 1st Avenue in St. John.
Pastor Wade Russell will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in St. John. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed through the Minnis Chapel, Inc. Facebook page.
Troy Devine was only 28 years old, but in that time he worked hard, loved his family, and raised a son. The community of St. John and Stafford County mourns the loss of one of their own.
Those who wish to honor his memory are encouraged to contribute to the Weston Devine Education Fund so that his son may carry forward the future Troy worked so hard to give him.
