Fitness Influencer “CookingForGains” Cameron Dukes Arrested in Tennessee on Outstanding Texas Warrants

Cameron Dukes, the fitness and food content creator widely known online as “CookingForGains,” was taken into custody in Tennessee on May 27, 2026, after law enforcement discovered he had outstanding warrants from the state of Texas.

The arrest has sent shockwaves through his fanbase, which spans millions of followers across Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms.

According to booking records shared on social media, Dukes was booked into a Tennessee detention facility at 2:27 PM on May 27, 2026.

He was arrested by the Mt. Juliet Police Department, with Officer Wiseman listed as the arresting officer.

The charge listed on the booking record is “Fugitive from Justice,” a charge typically applied when a person is apprehended in one state while holding an active warrant from another.

His bond was set at zero, meaning he was held without the option to post bail at the time of booking. No release date was listed on the record.

A Popular Figure With a Complicated History

Dukes built a loyal following through his “CookingForGains” brand, where he shared fitness-focused cooking content, meal prep strategies, and workout advice.

At the peak of his popularity, he amassed roughly 2.8 million followers on Instagram alone, positioning himself as one of the more recognizable names in the fitness influencer space.

His online presence was not without controversy, however. Earlier this year, Dukes made headlines when he publicly claimed to have quit using steroids and shared a side-by-side transformation photo on social media, encouraging his followers to “stay natural.”

He spoke openly about the mental and emotional toll of performance-enhancing drug use, warning that steroids would “demoralize your character” and cause mental health struggles.

While some fans praised his openness, others remained skeptical, and Reddit threads had already surfaced accusing him of aggressive behavior toward an ex-partner that some attributed to steroid use.

What Comes Next

The “Fugitive from Justice” charge in Tennessee is a holding charge used when someone is detained pending extradition back to the state where the original warrant was issued.

It does not specify the nature of the underlying charges out of Texas, and those details have not been publicly confirmed at the time of writing.

Extradition proceedings, if pursued, would require Dukes to be transferred to Texas to face whatever charges prompted the original warrants.

The fitness and social media community has been quick to react, with posts and commentary spreading rapidly across X, formerly Twitter, and various fitness forums.

The situation raises broader questions about accountability in the influencer space, particularly for figures who cultivate large, trusting audiences around personal transformation and lifestyle content.

As of now, Dukes has not released a public statement regarding the arrest. Further updates are expected as the legal process moves forward.
