Authorities in Baltimore County are asking the public for help locating a 16-year-old girl who has not been seen since the first week of June.
Isabella Victoria Bonnell was last seen in the Middle River area at around 8 a.m. on June 6, according to a notice posted by the Baltimore County Police Department. No additional details about the circumstances of her disappearance have been released by investigators.
Police describe Isabella as standing about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 155 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes and wears eyeglasses.
Her mother, who commented on a public post about the case, gave a similar description, listing her daughter’s weight at closer to 150 to 160 pounds, and wrote that she misses her daughter and hopes she will come home.
Anyone with information on Isabella’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Baltimore County Police Department at 410-887-2222 or to call 911 in an emergency. The department’s original notice also listed a separate non-emergency line, 410 887 0220, for tips related to the case.
Community Response Grows Online
The case has drawn attention well beyond Maryland after the nonprofit group Missing People in America shared the police flyer on its Facebook page, where it operates what it describes as one of the largest interactive missing persons databases in the country.
The organization noted that it only posts cases that have been verified through official sources such as law enforcement flyers, and it has added an entry for Isabella to its online database.
Dozens of people have left comments on the posts since they went up, many offering prayers for Isabella’s safe return and others saying they were sharing the flyer in their own communities.
Commenters reported sharing the post from places as far away as Honolulu, Hawaii, and Pennsylvania, along with several from Virginia near the Interstate 95 corridor.
One commenter identified herself as a cousin of Isabella’s mother and said she had a clearer photo of the teenager to help with identification.
What Happens Next
Missing persons cases involving minors in Maryland are typically handled at the local level, with departments such as Baltimore County Police coordinating with the Maryland Center for Missing and Unidentified Persons when a case remains open for an extended period.
As of this report, Isabella’s case remains active, and no new information has been made public since the initial notice went out.
Family members and police have not indicated whether they believe Isabella left voluntarily or under different circumstances, and investigators have asked that anyone who may have seen her since June 6, or who has any information that could help locate her, come forward as soon as possible.
Tips can be submitted directly to Baltimore County Police rather than through social media, since the department is the agency actively working the case.
For now, the search continues, and the family is asking the public to keep sharing her photo and description in hopes that someone, somewhere, recognizes her and helps bring her home safely.
