Amanda Knox Breaks Her Silence in Explosive Hulu Series Produced by Monica Lewinsky

Amanda Knox is taking back her story — and this time, she’s in control.

In the gripping first trailer for Hulu’s upcoming limited series The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, actress Grace Van Patten steps into the shoes of Knox, offering a dramatic and emotional retelling of one of the most talked-about true crime cases of the 21st century.

“For 15 years, I’ve been defined by something I didn’t do,” Van Patten says in the teaser, setting the tone for a series that promises to dive deep into Knox’s personal journey from accused killer to exoneree. The series isn’t just inspired by real events — Amanda Knox herself is onboard as a producer, ensuring her voice is front and center.

Monica Lewinsky, another woman who knows the weight of public scrutiny, is also producing, adding a powerful layer of authenticity to the project.

Titled The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, the show follows Knox’s story over a span of 15 years, from her shocking 2007 arrest in Perugia, Italy, for the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher, to her long legal battle and the eventual clearing of her name. The series dares to ask a haunting question: If no one believes the truth, does it even exist?

The official synopsis teases a story of resilience and injustice: “A limited series inspired by the story of how Amanda Knox was wrongfully convicted for the tragic murder of her roommate, Meredith Kercher, and her 16-year odyssey to set herself free.”

Joining Grace Van Patten in the cast are Sharon Horgan, John Hoogenakker, Francesco Acquaroli, Giuseppe De Domenico, and Roberta Mattei, bringing to life a story filled with tension, drama, and human vulnerability.

Created by This Is Us executive producer KJ Steinberg, the series is backed by 20th Television and The Littlefield Company. Alongside Knox and Lewinsky, other executive producers include Warren Littlefield, Lisa Harrison, Ann Johnson, Graham Littlefield, and director Michael Uppendahl.

The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox premieres with two episodes on Wednesday, August 20, exclusively on Hulu. New episodes will drop weekly, leading up to the finale on October 1.

Get ready to see Amanda Knox’s story like never before — from her point of view.
