Dexter: Resurrection Is Coming – And He’s Not Done Yet

Dexter Morgan is back. And this time, he’s waking up from a coma, not from a peaceful dream. Dexter: Resurrection is all set to hit Paramount+ on July 11, 2025. Fans of the original Showtime series and its follow-up New Blood won’t want to miss this new limited series. It’s packed with familiar faces, new threats, and that signature Dexter darkness we can’t look away from.

The premiere kicks off with two episodes dropping together. After that, it’ll follow a weekly release schedule.

The Cast Is Loaded With Talent

Let’s start with the most obvious—Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter Morgan. His presence alone brings authenticity. But this time, the supporting cast is just as powerful. James Remar is back as Harry Morgan. David Zayas returns as Batista. Jack Alcott reprises his role as Harrison.

Now here’s where things get even more exciting.

Peter Dinklage joins the franchise as Leon Prater, a creepy venture capitalist with secrets that seem way darker than financial fraud. Uma Thurman steps in as Charley, his head of security and a former Special Ops officer. And it doesn’t stop there.

Other names in the mix include Krysten Ritter, Neil Patrick Harris, David Dastmalchian, and Steve Schirripa. John Lithgow and Jimmy Smits also return, bringing some serious nostalgia to longtime fans.

The Story Picks Up Right After New Blood

In New Blood, we saw Harrison shoot Dexter after an emotional, heartbreaking final moment. It felt like the end. But it wasn’t.

Dexter: Resurrection opens just weeks later. Dexter survives the gunshot. Turns out, it was a close call—not a fatal one. He wakes up in a hospital, and Harrison is gone. No note. No clue. Just vanished.

Dexter, now haunted by what happened, heads to New York City to search for his son and try to make peace. But nothing comes easy for him.

The Past Never Stays Buried

Dexter’s journey isn’t just about finding Harrison. It’s also about confronting everything he’s tried to leave behind. When Angel Batista from Miami Metro shows up, the pressure rises. The walls start closing in. Old secrets threaten to explode.

Dexter and Harrison must figure out who they are to each other now. They’re both dealing with darkness. And in the chaos of NYC, that darkness doesn’t sleep. Their paths twist into something far more dangerous than either of them expects.

Behind The Scenes Brings Familiar Names Too

Scott Reynolds is joining Clyde Phillips again, who was the showrunner behind the best seasons of Dexter. Marcos Siega, known for his direction on New Blood and the original series, is also back to direct key episodes.

So fans can expect the same energy, tone, and grit that made the show iconic in the first place.

Dexter’s world is shifting, but the blood, secrets, and moral dilemmas are still very much alive.
