A 21-year-old man from Brooksville, Kentucky, has died following a weekend crash that left him partially ejected from his vehicle, according to Kentucky State Police.
Troopers with KSP Post 6 say they were called out Saturday to investigate an injury crash on Willow Lenoxburg Road in Bracken County.
When troopers arrived, they found that Samuel Dixon had been driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt when the car struck a telephone pole. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, and Dixon was partially ejected during the crash.
Emergency crews rushed Dixon to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment. Despite efforts to save him, police say Dixon succumbed to his injuries on Monday, two days after the crash occurred.
What Investigators Know So Far
Authorities have confirmed that Dixon was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash. KSP Post 6 was assisted at the scene by Bracken County Fire and EMS, along with Northern Pendleton County Fire and EMS, who helped respond to the wreck on Willow Lenoxburg Road.
Police have not yet released details about what may have caused Dixon to lose control of his car or strike the utility pole. No information has been made public regarding road conditions, weather, or whether speed played a factor in the crash.
