Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco Announce Deluxe Edition of “I Said I Love You First…And You Said It Back”

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are keeping the love—and the music—going strong. On Wednesday, the couple announced a deluxe version of their joint album I Said I Love You First, and fans are already buzzing.

The expanded edition is titled I Said I Love You First…And You Said It Back and drops on May 2. It’s set to bring new songs, familiar favorites, and reimagined versions of tracks from the original release.

Who’s Featured on the Deluxe Version?

Selena and Benny are bringing in some big names for the deluxe edition.

The new version will feature collaborations with:

  • Glorilla
  • Cigarettes After Sex
  • DJ Sliink

This mix of artists brings together rap, indie dream-pop, and electronic sounds—so expect something fresh and experimental.

When Does the New Single Drop?

Selena also revealed that a brand-new single and music video titled “Talk” will be released May 1 at 9 p.m. PT. That’s just one day before the full deluxe album drops.

And yes, there’s a theme.

She hinted that the music video will have a prom-inspired vibe, possibly featuring moments from her own prom-themed birthday party—an event organized by Benny Blanco himself.

Wait, Selena Never Went to Prom?

That’s right!

During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Blanco shared that Selena had never been to prom before. So, he decided to throw one just for her.

“It was the best ever,” he said.
“[Gomez] was like, ‘What do I wear? What do I do?’”

It’s a cute and personal touch that fans will likely get to see in the “Talk” music video.

How Well Did the Original Album Do?

The original album, I Said I Love You First, was already a huge success. It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in March, pulling in 120,000 album units in its first week.

That was the biggest week by units for both Selena and Benny. It marked a major milestone in their careers—and their relationship.

While they’ve worked together in the past on songs like Same Old Love and Kill Em With Kindness, this was their first full-length joint project.

Are Selena and Benny Still Engaged?

Yes! The couple announced their engagement in December, and their joint creative work only seems to be making them stronger.

Their relationship feels personal yet public, with just the right amount of behind-the-scenes glimpses for fans to enjoy.

They’ve been spotted at events, in the studio, and now they’re even sharing polaroid-style photos to tease the deluxe album.

What Can Fans Expect From the New Edition?

In Selena’s own words, the new edition will include:

  • New tracks
  • Fan favorites (that you might recognize)
  • Reimagined versions of songs from the original release

So whether you’re a new listener or a longtime fan, this deluxe version offers something new to enjoy.

And with features from Glorilla, Cigarettes After Sex, and DJ Sliink, the vibes are going to be all over the map—in the best way possible.
