Why Fans Think Otis Quietly Left WWE And Where He Really Is
WWE fans love to overthink when a superstar goes missing. And Otis has always been someone fans keep an eye on. He’s funny. He’s strong. He’s got that charm that makes people root for him, even when he’s not the main event guy.
But lately, Otis hasn’t been around. Monday Night Raw feels emptier without him doing his usual antics with Alpha Academy. So the rumor mill did its thing. Fans started whispering that Otis might have left WWE for good. But that’s not what’s happening here.
What Really Happened To Otis?
The truth is much simpler. Otis didn’t just pack up and quit. He got hurt. Back in May, during a match with Rusev, things went south. Rusev slammed Otis shoulder-first into the ring post twice. It looked nasty even on TV. After that, Otis needed help getting backstage.
Turns out, it wasn’t just a small bump. Otis had something going on with his elbow. Reports say he had to get arthroscopic surgery. Nothing too wild, but enough to keep him out of the ring. The thing with injuries is you never really know how long they’ll take. Some heal fast. Some take forever.
While Otis is out, Alpha Academy has been in this weird spot. Chad Gable turned heel and left the group. Akira Tozawa is still around, but it’s not the same vibe without Otis playing the goofy powerhouse.
Will Otis Be Back Soon?
People close to him say he shouldn’t be out too long. But WWE hasn’t said anything official about when he’s coming back. He’s still on the roster, just on the injury shelf for now.
The timing is tough. WWE has a lot of people out hurt at the same time. Kevin Owens, Bianca Belair, Dominik Mysterio, Zoey Stark — the list keeps growing. For now, Otis is just focusing on getting that elbow back in shape.
When he does come back, fans will be ready. The guy’s still got plenty to give. And Raw always feels better when Otis is out there throwing people around and yelling with that big goofy grin.
