Who Won ‘Deal or No Deal Island’ Season 2? David Genat Makes Reality TV History

Talk about a legendary win.

Deal or No Deal Island Season 2 didn’t just deliver a new champion—it shattered records. Model and Australian Survivor icon David Genat pulled off a thrilling victory during the explosive March 25 finale, walking away with a life-changing payday and a place in game show history.

But it wasn’t just the money that made headlines—it was how he earned it.

Who Won ‘Deal or No Deal Island’ Season 2?

In a bold and nerve-wracking final showdown, David Genat defeated runner-up Alexis Lete and secured his spot to face the banker. Known for his strategic finesse on Survivor, Genat brought the same social savvy and fearless gameplay to the island—and it paid off in a big way.

He ultimately walked away with $5.8 million, the highest offer ever accepted in the franchise’s nearly 20-year history.

How Did He Do It?

With the top prize of $12,232,001 still in play and only a $75 case left on the board, Genat rejected deal after deal—despite his castmates urging him to take the money and run. He trusted his instincts and leaned into emotion, revealing that the moment felt spiritual.

“I was having a spiritual experience, man. I just knew where that money was,” he told USA TODAY. “I was looking for signs from my father, who passed away. I felt his presence there, guiding me.”

In the end, he accepted the historic offer of $5.8 million—breaking the record for the largest cash prize ever awarded on a reality competition show.

Who Is David Genat?

A familiar face to reality fans, David Genat, 45, is a model, Jiu-Jitsu black belt, and Survivor Australia legend. Nicknamed the “Golden God,” Genat previously won Australian Survivor: All Stars and is known for his razor-sharp strategy and social charm.

He lives in Perth with wife Pearl Christensen and their blended family. The father of four shares sons Winston and Hugo with ex-wife Kathleen, and daughter Rei with Christensen, while also being a proud stepdad.

Chrissy Teigen Revealed as the Banker

In one of the finale’s biggest twists, the mysterious banker was unmasked—and fans were shocked to learn it was Chrissy Teigen. Once a case opener on the original Deal or No Deal, Teigen returned in a new role, making history as the franchise’s first female banker.

Her icy, no-nonsense energy throughout the season added another layer of pressure—and prestige—to Genat’s already intense final moments.

Who Hosts ‘Deal or No Deal Island’?

Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello returned to host Season 2, stepping into the role with a blend of charisma and intensity. While Howie Mandel hosted the original version, Manganiello brings a fresh energy to this high-stakes island competition.

Will There Be a Season 3?

NBC hasn’t officially renewed Deal or No Deal Island for Season 3 just yet. But given the ratings boost and historic finale, fans are hopeful an announcement is just around the corner.

Where to Watch

Both Seasons 1 and 2 of Deal or No Deal Island are now streaming on Peacock. Episodes originally aired on NBC.

David Genat didn’t just win a game—he changed the game. His fearless choices, emotional instincts, and survivor-hardened strategy created the kind of finale fans won’t forget anytime soon.

And if a Season 3 is in the cards, the bar has officially been set sky-high.
