Kim Sae-Ron’s Husband Breaks Silence After Abuse Allegations Surface: “Please Stop Spreading Falsehoods”
The tragic death of actress Kim Sae-Ron in February 2025 sent shockwaves across the entertainment world. But in the weeks following, rumors surrounding her personal life—particularly a whirlwind marriage and alleged abuse—have only intensified. Now, in a shocking twist, the man identified as her legal husband has come forward to address the accusations head-on.
In a lengthy and emotional statement released on March 25, Sae-Ron’s husband, an American citizen who remains unnamed publicly, spoke out through the Garo Sero Research Institute. His message? To set the record straight and defend himself—and his late wife—from what he calls “severe slander.”
Was Kim Sae-Ron Secretly Married?
According to the husband, yes. He claims that he and Sae-Ron met in November 2024 through a mutual acquaintance, and were legally married on January 12, 2025, in the United States with only witnesses present. He included a photo of their marriage certificate to back his claim.
But the marriage, he says, was short-lived and mutually dissolved soon after.
“We got married too quickly without serious consideration… and due to practical problems of a long-distance relationship and differences in personalities, we decided to void the marriage.”
What About the Abuse Claims?
Sae-Ron’s ex-boyfriend and longtime friend has recently made explosive claims, alleging that her husband was physically and emotionally abusive—going so far as to blame him for her untimely death. But the husband is denying everything.
He insists that they only met four times between November and February, and that Sae-Ron traveled voluntarily to the U.S. for each visit.
“If I really locked her up and assaulted her, why would she come to America each time?”
He also pointed out the apartment’s lack of soundproofing and strict U.S. laws against domestic violence, arguing that any abuse would have led to swift police involvement.
“We Shared Everything” — On Allegations of Control
One of the claims made against him involves “monitoring” her movements and allegedly controlling her phone and social media. But he argues that, as a couple in a long-distance relationship, sharing account access was a mutual decision to build trust.
“We freely shared our passwords… Kim Sae-Ron even used my phone to contact people many times. It was our way of staying close.”
He also offered to present written agreements and messages exchanged between them to prove the relationship was consensual and cooperative.
Pregnancy and Blackmail Rumors? He Says No.
In perhaps the most serious accusation, rumors of a pregnancy and forced abortion have circulated online. The husband firmly denies all of it, stating she was never pregnant and that he never coerced her into marriage.
He further revealed that he has received anonymous threats, including from someone pretending to be Sae-Ron’s cousin, accusing him of abuse and blackmail. Once he threatened legal action, the messages stopped.
“Please immediately cease the spread of falsehoods about a deceased person’s personal life,” he wrote, adding that he is open to a full police investigation to clear his name.
Final Plea to Media and the Public
The husband closed his statement by directly calling out YouTuber Lee Jin-Ho and others for continuing to push damaging and speculative narratives, urging them to “respect the deceased” and stop fueling false narratives.
“I wondered if I would be causing damage to Sae-Ron and her bereaved. But I made the judgment that too many distorted facts were being spread… I am still in pain.”

With new claims emerging and opposing sides speaking out, it’s unclear what legal steps will follow. What remains certain is that Kim Sae-Ron’s legacy is being overshadowed by controversy—and her husband wants that to end.
