Seth Meyers’ Dog Frisbee Passes Away At 14, Fans Recall Andy Samberg’s Longtime “Feud”
Seth Meyers shared sad news with fans this week, announcing the death of his beloved dog, Frisbee. The late-night host took to Instagram on August 19, 2025, to post a heartfelt tribute.
“RIP to Frisbee, our OG IG who I was happy to go grey with. She was at her best curled in your lap and patient when we dressed her up like a pilgrim. Thanks for 14 amazing years, girl,” Meyers wrote.
Frisbee had been part of Meyers’ family for more than a decade and often appeared in stories he shared with fans.
Andy Samberg vs. Frisbee: A comedy rivalry
While Frisbee was loved by Meyers’ family, she was also at the center of one of Hollywood’s funniest running gags — Andy Samberg’s “hatred” for the dog.
Back in 2020, Samberg appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers and jokingly called Frisbee “the piece of sht”*, earning laughs from the audience. He explained that while he liked dogs in general, he had a problem with Frisbee in particular, citing her “name, smell, and vibes.”
Meyers revealed that Samberg even refused to keep his family Christmas card because Frisbee’s photo was on it. Andy sent it back, scratching out Frisbee’s face like “a serial killer.”
The bit became a fan favorite, with Samberg playing up the rivalry whenever the topic came up.
Fans react to Frisbee’s passing
After Meyers shared the news of Frisbee’s death, fans quickly filled the comments with memories of the long-running gag. Some joked that they hoped Frisbee’s ghost would haunt Andy Samberg, while others teased about checking his “alibi.”
Despite the humor, the announcement marked the end of a sweet chapter for Meyers and his family, who loved Frisbee dearly.
A mix of laughter and love
For 14 years, Frisbee was by Seth Meyers’ side through family milestones and late-night laughs. While Andy Samberg’s faux feud gave fans countless memorable moments, Meyers’ tribute showed the deep bond between the host and his pet.
As one fan wrote, “Thanks for sharing her with us all these years — Frisbee was truly part of the show.”
