Ke Huy Quan Voices Villainous Snake in ‘Zootopia 2’ Trailer as Judy and Nick Return for Wild New Adventure

The wait is over! Disney has dropped the first full trailer for Zootopia 2, and it promises an even bigger, wilder ride through the animal metropolis than ever before. This time, Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan joins the cast, lending his voice to the slippery new villain, Gary De’Snake, a mysterious reptile who stirs chaos in the peaceful city of Zootopia.

The sequel, which hits theaters on November 26, brings back fan-favorite duo Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, voiced again by Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, as they take their partnership to new heights—literally and emotionally.

What’s the Plot?

Set just days after Judy and Nick officially become partners on the police force, the two find themselves in couples counseling for partners, trying to smooth out their working relationship. But things get messy when Gary De’Snake slithers into town—marking a rare reptile sighting in the mammal-majority city—and quickly becomes public enemy number one.

According to Disney’s official synopsis, “Judy and Nick find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down.” Their mission takes them undercover to brand-new regions of the city, including marshlands and desert zones never seen in the original film.

Star-Studded Cast Returns (and Expands)

In addition to Goodwin, Bateman, and Quan, the cast features some major returning and new voices:

  • Shakira reprises her role as pop star Gazelle
  • Idris Elba returns as tough-but-fair Chief Bogo
  • Fortune Feimster voices Nibbles Maplestick, a feisty beaver
  • Quinta Brunson plays quirky partner therapist Dr. Fuzzby, a quokka with a passion for teamwork

What to Expect from Zootopia 2

Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, Zootopia 2 promises to dive deeper into the diverse communities that make up the city—from semi-aquatic mammal marshes to vast desert dunes, and everything in between.

“We are beyond excited to welcome everyone back to the outrageous, expansive animal metropolis of Zootopia,” Bush said in a recent statement. “Our heroes Judy and Nick will meet a lot of new friends, and discover even more about the world, themselves, and a brand-new snake in town.”

The trailer showcases action-packed chases, hilarious dialogue, and that signature Disney heart. With the addition of Ke Huy Quan’s sinister-yet-charming snake villain, fans can expect a thrilling mystery, lots of laughs, and emotional depth as Judy and Nick are pushed to their limits.

Release Date

Zootopia 2 hits U.S. theaters on November 26, just in time for Thanksgiving weekend. Get ready for an all-new adventure full of action, heart, and plenty of wild surprises.
