Catherine Paiz Breaks Her Silence on Austin McBroom Cheating

Catherine Paiz is finally opening up. After years of public speculation and social media whispers, she’s telling her side of the story. On the May 28 episode of Call Her Daddy, Catherine sat down with host Alex Cooper and shared raw, emotional details about her marriage and the cheating scandal that led to her split from Austin McBroom.

The Beginning of the End

Catherine married Austin privately in 2017. The couple didn’t share their wedding news until 2020. By then, they were already expecting their third child. Together, they have three kids: Elle, Alaïa, and Steel.

In the interview, Catherine shared how painful it was when the first cheating rumors started to spread. “My heart sank,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh.’” But at the time, she didn’t believe the rumors. They were always together. They were raising kids, filming, and running a business.

She Trusted Him at First

Catherine said she asked Austin about the accusations. He told her not to worry and that it came with being in the spotlight. “Let’s not respond,” he told her. “It’s not true.” Catherine believed him.

“I trust my partner,” Catherine said. “I’m the type of person who says, ‘Go, have your freedom.’” She stayed home, exhausted, breastfeeding and filming daily. She believed Austin deserved the break.

Hints from Miami

While he was in Miami, she noticed strange things during their phone calls. She could hear women in the background but brushed it off. Later, a makeup artist posted a video on YouTube describing a wild party with Austin, women, and a boat. Catherine didn’t watch it, but her friends did.

“I was pregnant again,” she said, holding back tears. “I just remember bawling. I didn’t want to believe it, but I couldn’t ignore it anymore.”

The Text That Changed Everything

When Catherine was three months pregnant with Steel, she and Austin were filming their daughter’s first haircut. A text popped up on Austin’s phone. She caught a glimpse.

“If you really love your wife, you wouldn’t be…” she remembered reading. “My heart dropped. I was pregnant. The camera was rolling. It was surreal.” She went home pretending nothing happened. A few days later, they talked about it. Austin admitted he had been talking to another woman.

He Finally Admitted It

According to Catherine, she never heard him say “I cheated” until recently. She shared that he only acknowledged it out loud after the release of her book, Dolores – My Journey Home, earlier this month.
