Butte County Boy, Carter Fuller, 13, Killed in Quad Accident on Skyway; Mother Dionna Fuller Breaks Silence

The Magalia community is grieving the sudden death of 13-year-old Carter Fuller, who lost his life following a quad accident on Skyway on June 10, 2026. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene just north of Nimshew Road and Hills Country Store at approximately 6:00 PM after receiving reports of an ATV rollover with CPR in progress.

Scanner reports from Butte County Fires, Accidents, and Crimes News documented the response in real time. Medics arrived at the scene at 6:08 PM, and Enloe FlightCare was called in with a landing pad set up at Magalia Fire Center on Steiffer Road. Despite the rapid response from emergency personnel, Carter did not survive.

His mother, Dionna Fuller, took to social media to share her heartbreak and gratitude in a post that has since touched thousands.

“My heart is forever broken,” she wrote. “He was my baby and I’m not sure how to do this thing called life now.” She described Carter as a passionate rider who found joy in the mountains. “Riding was his happy place. He was my mountain boy through and through.”

Dionna asked friends and community members to never forget her son and urged other young riders to take caution.

“He was such a great rider. This was a very tragic accident. I just hope that any other kids out there riding take caution because you just never know.”

She also reached out to anyone with photos or videos of Carter, saying those memories are now among the most precious things she has left.

Fraud Warning Issued as Community Donations Pour In

A GoFundMe was established with Dionna’s permission to help cover funeral expenses and other immediate family needs. As of this writing, the campaign has raised over $13,285 from 156 donors, reaching 67 percent of its $20,000 goal.

Carter’s father, Doug Strongheart, and the rest of the family have been named as those the funds will directly support.

However, community organizers issued an urgent warning after a fraudulent Venmo account was discovered using Carter’s photo and a name closely resembling that of a known family contact. Donors were advised not to send money to any unverified accounts.

Dionna’s official Venmo, @AWDthis, has since been restored and confirmed as the only legitimate direct donation option outside the GoFundMe.

Those wishing to donate by cash or check were directed to contact Joelle Carr or Mindy Wilkey, who will ensure all funds go directly to Dionna and her family. Memorial T-shirts and hats are also being designed, with all proceeds going to the family. Details on ordering are expected to be shared soon, along with information on a planned celebration of life.

Carter Fuller is remembered by those who knew him as a spirited, ambitious young boy with a deep love for the outdoors and a bright future ahead of him.
