Sarah Jessica Parker Confirms ‘And Just Like That’ Will End With Season 3

Sarah Jessica Parker is preparing to bid farewell to her most iconic role. After three decades of playing Carrie Bradshaw across Sex and the City and its revival And Just Like That, Parker confirmed that the series will wrap up with Season 3. The actress described her time as Carrie as an “extraordinary job” in a recent interview, reflecting on what the character has meant to her career and to audiences worldwide.

Carrie Bradshaw’s Future

In her conversation with Evan Ross Katz, Parker admitted that while Carrie has been a defining part of her life, it’s difficult to say the character is truly finished. “It’s incredibly hard to be definitive,” she said when asked whether this was the last chapter for Bradshaw. Still, she acknowledged that the conclusion of And Just Like That offers a natural closing point.

For Parker, Carrie has always been more than just a role. In past social media posts, she shared heartfelt messages about how deeply the character has shaped her career and personal journey.

The Decision to End the Series

So why end a show that remains popular? Parker explained that the choice was made out of affection and respect, not fatigue. “Why would you stop doing something that is successful in this moment? It’s because of the profound affection for the job and for the show,” she said, adding that she and showrunner Michael Patrick King wanted to honor the series the right way.

Parker drew a parallel to the way the team decided to conclude Sex and the City years ago, emphasizing that it was about preserving the integrity of the story rather than stretching it too thin.

A Legacy Spanning Decades

And Just Like That was launched in 2021 as a revival, revisiting Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte in their 50s. Despite mixed reviews early on, the series found a loyal audience on HBO Max. Earlier this month, producers confirmed that Season 3 will serve as the final season.

The announcement marks the end of an era. Parker noted on Instagram that Carrie Bradshaw has been at the center of her professional life for 27 years — from the original HBO hit in 1998, through two feature films, and finally this latest revival.

What Comes Next

For fans, the final season of And Just Like That represents one more chance to see Carrie navigate love, friendship, and life in New York City. For Parker, it means closing a chapter with gratitude. Calling the role “extraordinary,” she reminded audiences that endings don’t diminish the joy of the journey.

As HBO Max prepares to roll out the final season, viewers are bracing for an emotional farewell to a character who changed the way television portrayed women, friendship, and modern love.
