Taylor Swift Fans Think Her New Album Will Feature Sabrina Carpenter Collaboration
Taylor Swift might be cooking up something big — and fans think Sabrina Carpenter is part of the plan. Swifties have been buzzing online with theories that Taylor’s upcoming 12th studio album will include a track featuring the Espresso hitmaker.
The two pop stars have grown close over the past year, with Sabrina opening for select dates on Taylor’s record-breaking Eras Tour. While they haven’t yet released a song together, fans believe that’s about to change. Taylor has previously teamed up with younger artists, including Gracie Abrams, so a Sabrina collab wouldn’t be out of the ordinary.
Speculation kicked off after a playful moment during the Eras Tour. At one show, Taylor pretended to call Sabrina — who was backstage — and invited her to come out and perform. Moments later, Sabrina joined her on stage for a mashup of Taylor’s Is It Over Now? and her own hit Espresso. During the “call,” Taylor jokingly said, “Sabrina, is there any chance you could get off the rollercoaster you’re on and put on some clothes and just come down to the stadium real quick?”
Fans later noticed Sabrina had posted an Instagram photo standing in front of a clothesline with undergarments, captioning it, “Go put on some clothes!” The coincidence raised eyebrows, especially after Gigi Hadid — a close friend of Taylor — commented, “But daddy I have nothing to wear!!” That line closely echoes a song title from Taylor’s The Tortured Poets Department album, But Daddy I Love Him.
Swifties also believe Taylor has been dropping “orange” hints about the new album’s theme. The theory gained traction when the New Heights podcast teased a special guest for its Wednesday episode with an orange background silhouette that fans quickly matched to Taylor. Just 12 minutes later, Taylor Nation posted photos of her on the Eras Tour wearing a bright orange dress.
Adding to the mystery, fans pointed out that in the final leg of the tour, Taylor wore new multi-colored dresses during the surprise song segment — except for the New Orleans Night 2 show. That night, she brought back her solid orange “sunset” dress from the European leg, and it was also the night Sabrina appeared on stage.
One fan summed it up on X: “The show where she brought out Sabrina was the only one in the US-CA leg where she wore the one-color surprise song dress — and it was orange! TS12’s color! The Easter eggs are really Easter egging this time!”
With Taylor’s re-recording era behind her, fans are convinced all signs point to fresh music — and possibly, her first official duet with Sabrina Carpenter.
