Bam Margera Shuts Down Talk of ‘Jackass’ Reunion: ‘The Damage Has Been Done’
Bam Margera, the skateboarder and stuntman who rose to fame as part of MTV’s Jackass crew, has made it clear that he has no interest in returning to the franchise that made him a household name. While promoting his role as the “secret skater” in the new video game remake Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4, Margera addressed the idea of a potential Jackass reunion — and his answer was firm.
Why Won’t Bam Return to ‘Jackass’?
In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Margera explained that his history with the Jackass team left him with no desire to work with them again. “What they did to me, making me go to treatment and paying for it, and then not putting me in a movie, and, you know, I had to go to court over it,” he said. “You couldn’t offer me enough money to want to do another Jackass with them. The damage has been done.”
The fallout stems from his removal during the production of Jackass Forever, the 2022 revival movie. Margera filed a lawsuit against Paramount Pictures, Johnny Knoxville, and director Spike Jonze in 2021, alleging wrongful termination. He claimed he was coerced into signing a strict “wellness agreement” and was later fired after testing positive for Adderall, which he had been prescribed for years. The lawsuit was settled in 2022, but the rift between Margera and his former collaborators appears permanent.
Johnny Knoxville, speaking to GQ during the time of Margera’s lawsuit, avoided engaging in a public dispute. “I just want him to get better,” Knoxville said, emphasizing that his main concern was Margera’s health and recovery.
Is ‘Viva La Bam’ Coming Back?
Fans of Margera’s own MTV reality series, Viva La Bam, have also wondered if the show might make a comeback. However, Bam dismissed the idea during the same interview. “I just feel like that type of show has completely run its course,” he said.
Reflecting on the series’ wild family antics, Margera noted how much his life has changed since then. “Living with my parents, and painting the whole kitchen blue, and having my mom freak out — to end something like that, and then your life moves on. You get your own house, with your own wife and you have a kid. … I would have to move back in with my parents and re-mess with ’em after giving them a 15-year break. It would just be weird.”
What’s Next for Bam Margera?
Though his days with Jackass are behind him, Margera is still keeping busy. His latest project, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4, features him as a hidden playable character — a nostalgic nod for fans of both skateboarding and gaming. The game is now available on all major consoles and PC.
Bam’s decision to move on from his Jackass roots seems final. While many fans still hold onto memories of his outrageous stunts and pranks, Margera is focused on new chapters in his life.
