On July 18, Skai posted a carousel of adorable images on Instagram celebrating Kasai turning six months old. Dressed in little blue and white striped overalls, Kasai looked bright-eyed and full of joy as he sat beside a fluffy gray and white dog and played with his toys.

A Bittersweet Journey into Motherhood
Skai first confirmed her pregnancy through PEOPLE in November 2024. Kasai was born in January 2025, and while the milestone has brought plenty of joy, it’s also come with tough challenges.
The actress reportedly shares Kasai with her ex-boyfriend, 21-year-old Deondre Burgin. Sadly, their relationship turned dark earlier this year. In May, Skai filed a restraining order against Burgin in Los Angeles County, citing domestic abuse.
She detailed a horrifying incident that allegedly occurred on Mother’s Day, claiming Burgin assaulted her while she was holding Kasai. According to court documents, she said he grabbed her by the hair, slammed her head into a car window, and punched her.
Putting Her Son’s Safety First
A close source shared with PEOPLE that the restraining order was necessary for the safety of Skai and her son. “The safety and well-being of her family is the top priority,” the insider noted. “This restraining order was filed as a necessary measure to protect her and her child from continued harassment and threats.”
Then on July 14, Burgin was arrested by an FBI task force in connection with an alleged carjacking. He was charged with aggravated robbery, adding another troubling chapter to Skai’s story.
