Fans of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan were caught off guard after a radio show stirred up serious concerns about his health. On June 18, radio host Bubba the Love Sponge claimed on air that Hogan was in the hospital and that the situation might be critical.
Bubba said he received what he called “pretty damn reliable” information. According to him, family members were supposedly being contacted to come say their goodbyes. “It’s not good,” Bubba stated, although he also admitted he wasn’t 100% sure of the facts.
This statement spread quickly, causing panic online. Fans started fearing the worst. Some believed Hogan might actually be close to death.
Reports Say He’s Recovering from Heart Surgery
Soon after the claims went public, Us Weekly reported a much calmer version of events. A source told them Hogan had undergone serious heart surgery weeks ago. But he was said to be recovering well. The insider made it clear — Hogan was never on death’s door.
TMZ backed that up, saying Hogan was already moving around. They described his condition as more of the usual health issues he’s faced over the years.

This isn’t the first time Hogan’s health has sparked worry. Just a month ago, viewers were shocked by his appearance on Fox and Friends. Comments flooded social media, with some users saying he looked “unwell” and even “like death.”
Not long after that, TMZ reported he had a minor spinal fusion procedure. A rep confirmed it was just another surgery in a long list. Hogan himself has spoken about his medical history. He’s had around 25 surgeries, including hip and knee replacements.
