Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Final Season Announced

Paramount+ just dropped big news for Star Trek fans. The beloved series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been renewed for its fifth and final season. This final stretch will have six episodes and is set to start production later this year. This announcement comes just before the third season premieres this summer, keeping excitement high for the franchise.

Upcoming Third Season Details

The third season will kick off on July 17 with two episodes released at once on Paramount+ in the U.S. After that, new episodes will come out every Thursday, wrapping up the season on September 11. Fans won’t have to wait long to dive back into the adventures aboard the starship Enterprise. Meanwhile, the fourth season is already in production, so there’s plenty more to look forward to before the show ends.

A Series Loved by Fans and Critics

Strange New Worlds has been a hit with both fans and critics. The first two seasons earned a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which shows how well the series has been received. It also grabbed several award nominations, including a Critics Choice Awards nod for Best Drama Series in 2023. The show won the Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Television Series in 2022, proving it has real staying power in the sci-fi world.

What the Producers Have to Say

Executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, and Alex Kurtzman spoke about the show’s journey. They emphasized that Strange New Worlds was always meant to celebrate what Star Trek stands for: curiosity, hope, and the belief in a better future. They expressed their gratitude to Paramount+ for allowing them to tell this story exactly as they planned. And they gave a shoutout to the fans for joining them on this journey, saying the adventure is far from over with three more seasons still ahead.

Star-Studded Cast and Crew

The series stars Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun, and Martin Quinn. Special guest stars include Carol Kane and Paul Wesley. Behind the scenes, the show is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment. Goldsman and Myers are co-showrunners, with a long list of executive producers involved, including Alex Kurtzman and Rod Roddenberry.

Other Star Trek Titles on Paramount+

Besides Strange New Worlds, Paramount+ hosts other Star Trek titles like Star Trek: Section 31 featuring Michelle Yeoh, and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. The platform also has all seasons of the animated Star Trek: Lower Decks, and hit series like Star Trek: Discovery starring Sonequa Martin-Green, and Star Trek: Picard with Patrick Stewart returning as Jean-Luc Picard.

For fans of the Star Trek universe, Paramount+ is becoming the go-to spot to stream all these adventures, making it a great time to be part of the fandom.
