What’s Next for Tony Reali After ‘Around The Horn’? The Longtime ESPN Host Says “More Smiles to Come”

After more than 20 years of hosting Around The Horn, Tony Reali is closing one chapter and preparing for the next. The long-running ESPN show aired its final episode on May 23, and now fans are asking: what’s next for Reali?

Reali has not officially announced his next move. But in an interview with USA TODAY Sports, the 46-year-old host shared his mindset and hopes for the future. His contract with ESPN continues through August, giving him time to explore new ideas.

A Career Built on Passion

Reali’s journey started at Fordham University, where he worked for the school radio station WFUV. He covered the New York Yankees as a student. Then he became known as “Stat Boy” on Pardon The Interruption, one of ESPN’s most iconic shows.

In 2004, Reali took over Around The Horn, where he became a daily presence in sports fans’ lives. He guided panelists through fast-paced debates and kept the show running smoothly. He was also known for his thoughtful messages and kind energy, especially during tough news cycles.

Ready for Something New

Reali is not sad about ATH ending. Instead, he’s excited about what’s next. “I’m not worried in the least,” he said. “I have lots of ideas.” He wants to continue creating content that reflects his personality. He described it as adding “a little Reali sauce.”

He mentioned being interested in game shows and even children’s television. These areas allow him to blend his love for performance with his positive, upbeat spirit.

“I have a lot of interests, and more energy than interests,” he said. “And I’m happy and I’m hungry.”

Staying Connected with Fans

One of Reali’s ideas includes bringing Around The Horn into a fan-friendly format. He floated the possibility of hosting sports debates with fans using a personal website. Think of it like a sports version of Cameo, where Reali could connect directly with viewers.

He’s always had a unique approach as a host. Inspired by personalities like Regis Philbin and Anthony Bourdain, he worked to make guests comfortable and natural, even when filming. He joked that he was the one who should have been muted all along.

Looking Ahead with Gratitude

Although the daily version of Around The Horn has ended, Reali says he’s not going anywhere. He’s excited about new ways to connect with viewers and bring them joy.

“My goal is to connect with viewers, as we always have, in an energetic and fun way,” he said. “More smiles to come.”

Whatever he does next, one thing is clear. Tony Reali’s next act will be creative, meaningful, and full of heart. Fans can’t wait to see where he goes from here.
