Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour Hits Stormy Weather in Chicago — Fans React to Delays and Ticket Prices

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour stop in Chicago took an unexpected turn when dangerous weather conditions disrupted her show at Soldier Field. Severe storms, including possible tornadoes, heavy rain, and strong winds, rolled through the Midwest Thursday night, delaying the Grammy winner’s outdoor concert and forcing fans to take cover.

Videos shared online show concertgoers rushing for safety as the rain poured down over the open-air stadium. While the show was delayed, Beyoncé eventually hit the stage and delivered a powerful performance — despite the rough conditions. Thankfully, no serious injuries have been reported.

Tornado Warnings and Power Outages Impact Beyoncé’s Chicago Show

According to NBC News, the National Weather Service issued alerts for 80 mph winds across areas near Tinley Park, a Chicago suburb. The region, including parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan, saw tornado warnings, hail, and widespread power outages.

PowerOutage.us reported that around 400,000 homes and businesses lost electricity across the affected states, with Michigan hit the hardest. In Madison, Wisconsin, residents saw hail the size of hen eggs, roughly 2 inches in diameter, as the storms intensified.

The weather also brought delays and confusion to Beyoncé’s fans, many of whom traveled long distances to see her live. Yet, despite everything, Queen Bey pressed on and did her best to give her fans a memorable night.

Beyoncé Faces Tour Challenges: Empty Seats and High Ticket Prices Spark Debate

While the weather was out of anyone’s control, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour is facing another challenge — selling out venues. Fans have taken to social media to share images of empty seats and sections covered in blankets, sparking conversations about the real reason behind slower ticket sales.

One major complaint? Ticket prices. Fans are calling out the steep costs, particularly for pit tickets, which some say are priced at over $1,000 face value, with no perks included. That means no merch, no early entry — just the ticket.

An X user commented, “It’s so funny that people are acting like the Cowboy Carter Tour not being sold out has anything to do with Beyoncé’s cultural relevance when it’s actually because the tickets cost a gazillion dollars.”

Another frustrated fan wrote, “I’m sorry but we need to talk about Beyoncé charging her fans over $1k (face value [by the way]) for pit tickets. And it’s a standard ticket too like no perks at all, no merch, early entry like ???? ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS FV?”

The Cowboy Carter tour follows Beyoncé’s record-breaking Renaissance Tour from 2023, and this time around, the country-inspired project has created new conversations around genre, ticketing, and fan loyalty.

Still, even through a storm, Beyoncé proved why she’s one of the greatest performers in the world — showing up, staying strong, and giving her all for the fans who braved the weather with her.

More tour updates and fan reactions coming soon.
