Lansing, Michigan, police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 64-year-old man who has been missing since Sunday night.
Dwayne Harvey Kettlewell was last heard from by his family on July 12 at around 11 p.m., and he has not been seen or contacted anyone since.
Who Is Missing
Kettlewell is described as 6 feet 3 inches tall and about 200 pounds. He has ear-length, wavy gray hair and a gray goatee.
The Lansing Police Department has classified him as missing and endangered, a designation used when officers believe a missing person may be at risk due to age, health, or other circumstances.
Details Of His Planned Trip
Family members say Kettlewell was supposed to be driving to the Dearborn area on Monday, July 13. He was traveling in a red Toyota Corolla with a Mackinac Bridge license plate reading N4606. The car is missing both hubcaps on the back wheels, a detail police hope will help anyone who may have spotted the vehicle along his route or in the Dearborn area.
Because he never arrived and has not made contact with anyone since Sunday night, his disappearance has raised concern among relatives and local residents.
Volunteer missing persons groups on social media have already begun sharing his photo and description in hopes of reaching people who may have seen him on the road between Lansing and Dearborn.
Community Response And How To Help
Several Michigan-based Facebook groups dedicated to missing persons cases have picked up Kettlewell’s story since it was first shared, with members reposting his photo in cities including Traverse City and Warren. That kind of grassroots sharing has helped locate missing individuals in the past, and organizers are encouraging more people across the state to repost his information.
Anyone with information about Kettlewell’s whereabouts, or anyone who may have seen his car along I-96, US-127, or other routes toward Dearborn, is asked to contact the Lansing Police Department directly at 517-483-4600. Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, and no further updates have been made public since the initial report.
Family and friends are hoping for a quick and safe resolution. As missing persons cases like this often depend on public awareness, residents are being urged to keep an eye out for the red Corolla with the distinctive missing hubcaps and to share Kettlewell’s photo with anyone who might have information.
Until he is found, the search continues, with both law enforcement and community volunteers working to bring him home safely.
