Fresno, CA — A 26-year-old man who worked as an after-school tutor at Fresno High School has been arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail on serious child exploitation charges, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
Keebtsim Txhim Christopher Xiong of Fresno was taken into custody by detectives with the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He faces charges that include attempting to arrange a meeting with a minor for sexual purposes, along with possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
His bail was set at $100,000, and he has since posted bond and been released pending a future court date.
How the Investigation Began
Investigators say they opened the case after receiving information that Xiong had been inappropriately communicating with minors inside an online group chat hosted on Discord.
That tip led detectives to dig deeper into his online activity, and evidence gathered during the investigation reportedly showed he exchanged CSAM with children and worked to set up an in-person meeting with at least one of them.
Xiong worked as an after-school tutor at Fresno High School through the California Teaching Fellows Foundation, a private company contracted by the Fresno Unified School District. Following news of his arrest, the company placed him on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
Detectives Believe There May Be More Victims
Because of the trust placed in Xiong through his role at the school, investigators say they are worried that not everyone affected has come forward yet. Detectives are concerned that additional victims may still be out there and have not reported what happened to them.
Anyone who has information related to the case, or who believes they or someone they know may have been targeted, is urged to contact Fresno County authorities. Tips can be sent to Detective Jonathan George, to the Sheriff’s Dispatch Center, or submitted anonymously through Valley Crime Stoppers, where callers may also be eligible for a cash reward. The case has been logged under case number 26 6201.
The arrest adds to a string of recent cases in the Fresno area involving school employees accused of inappropriate conduct with minors, prompting renewed scrutiny of how contracted staff working inside public schools are screened and monitored.
Parents and community members have expressed frustration online, with many questioning how someone in a position of trust around children could allegedly engage in this kind of behavior undetected for any length of time.
The Fresno Unified School District has not released a separate statement beyond confirming that Xiong’s employer, not the district directly, handled his personnel status following the arrest.
The investigation remains active, and further updates are expected as detectives continue reviewing evidence and following up on any new information from the public.
