Marsau Scott, known for his role on OWN’s “Love & Marriage: Huntsville,” was arrested Sunday morning in Huntsville, Alabama, according to inmate records from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Scott, 46, was booked at 7:31 a.m. on June 28. Jail records list three charges against him: third-degree simple assault, harassment, and an alias writ arrest tied to a misdemeanor.
He was released from custody just under two and a half hours later, at 9:58 a.m.
Details Behind the Charges
According to the booking paperwork, the simple assault and harassment charges were filed by the Huntsville Police Department.
The alias writ arrest, on the other hand, lists the Madison County Sheriff’s Office as the arresting agency and came with a $600 bond attached.
The assault and harassment charges each carried no bond requirement. As of now, authorities have not released any public statement explaining what led to the arrest, and the specific circumstances surrounding the alleged incident remain unknown.
This is not the first time Scott has found himself in legal trouble. He was previously arrested in March 2025 after an alias warrant was issued following an aggressive speeding ticket.
That earlier arrest also made headlines among fans of the Bravo-adjacent reality series.
Scott’s latest arrest adds him to a growing list of “Love & Marriage: Huntsville” cast members who have faced legal issues since January 2024. That list now includes five separate arrests.
Maurice Scott was previously taken into custody on a DUI charge, while Destiny Payton faced an identity theft charge. Martell Holt was also arrested on a domestic violence-related harassing communications charge during that same stretch.
Scott Responds Online
Hours after he was released from jail, Scott appeared to address the situation, although indirectly, through his Instagram Story.
He had previously shared a promotional graphic noting that he had been selected, or as he put it, “drafted,” to take part in a celebrity basketball tournament scheduled for that Sunday.
However, following his release, Scott posted an update revealing he would no longer be participating in the event.
In his message, Scott wrote that “everyone needs a little rest every now and then,” and added the phrase “load management” to the post, a phrase often used in professional sports to describe athletes sitting out games to avoid injury or burnout.
Many took the comment as a lighthearted, if vague, nod to the events of his weekend.
Scott has not issued any further public comment about the arrest or the specific allegations against him, and it remains unclear whether additional legal proceedings will follow.
Fans of the show have taken to social media to discuss the news, with many pointing out the pattern of cast members from the series facing arrests in recent years.
As more information becomes available regarding the nature of the assault and harassment allegations, updates are expected to follow.
For now, Scott’s representatives and the production team behind “Love & Marriage: Huntsville” have not issued any official statements addressing the arrest.
