LaPlace, LA Teen Omarion Ingram, 17, Killed in Monday Night Shooting as Family Pleads for Justice

The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Omarion Ingram, whose body was discovered Monday night in LaPlace, Louisiana. The tragedy has left his family devastated and the community searching for answers.

Deputies responded to a shots-fired call around 7:20 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, near Cinclair Loop.

When officers arrived, they found shell casings near an alley but no victim at the scene. Hours later, at approximately 10 p.m., Ingram’s body was found lying in a field near the site of a former Winn-Dixie grocery store.

The sequence of events began when Ingram’s family reached out to investigators, telling them the teenager may have been involved in a fight around the time the shots were fired.

They also told deputies they had been unable to reach him by phone. That information led investigators to expand their search, ultimately resulting in the heartbreaking discovery of his body.

The sheriff’s office confirmed Ingram’s death is being investigated as a homicide. As of now, no suspects or persons of interest have been publicly identified, and investigators are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.

A Son, Brother, and Friend Gone Too Soon

Omarion Ingram was only 17 years old. To the people who loved him, he was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend whose presence touched everyone around him. His family describes him simply as “O,” a young man whose life mattered deeply to those who knew him.

His mother, Arianna Ingram, and his father, Lemons Stewart, are now facing what no parent should ever have to endure. Extended family members and close friends are rallying around them during this unimaginable time of grief.

A GoFundMe campaign titled “Justice for Omarion: Support His Family” was launched by family member Morisa Smith to help cover funeral and memorial expenses.

The fundraiser, which has a goal of $12,000, has already received donations from community members, including contributions from relatives Renida Ingram and Reshanna Ingram.

The campaign page carries a heartfelt message from the family, reading in part that Omarion was “senselessly shot and killed” and that they hope to give him “the homegoing he deserves.”

The family is also calling on anyone with information to step forward so that justice can be served for Omarion.

Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to call the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the St. John Sheriff’s Office website.
