
Paragould Resident Dale Shelton, 45, Killed in ATV Crash; Mother, Sister, and Community Left Heartbroken
Dale Robert Shelton, 45, of Paragould, Arkansas, lost his life on Monday, June 8, 2026, following an ATV crash in Northeast Arkansas. He was born on March 27, 1981, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and had made Paragould his home.
According to a crash report, Shelton was driving an ATV in Paragould when his vehicle left the roadway while attempting to make a turn and struck a telephone pole. He was thrown from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
Those who knew Dale described him as a compassionate and selfless man who always put others before himself. He was especially devoted to his mother and sister, caring deeply for their wellbeing above his own.
His warm demeanor and engaging personality meant he never met a stranger. He had a way of drawing people in with a smile so genuine it made everyone around him smile too.
Dale loved spending time outdoors, finding joy in yardwork and arrowhead hunting, activities that kept him connected to the natural world around him. He was also a passionate coin collector, a hobby that gave him a unique way to bond with others and spark conversations wherever he went. Dale had a gift for bringing people together.
He cherished hosting gatherings where laughter and music filled the air, creating memories for everyone fortunate enough to be in his company.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Snay; his father, Tim Shelton; his sister, Angela Snay; his brother, Joe “Nick” Hall; his grandmother, Barbara Shelton; his aunt and uncle, Ronnie and Susan Chittenden; his cousins Spring Freytag and Megan; his friends Corey Arant and Billy The Kid; and his closest and best friend, Tabitha Kinder, whom he looked forward to seeing every day.
He was also deeply devoted to his pitbulls, Mya and Lily, whose presence brought him constant happiness. Dale was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ethel Snay, and his grandfather, William Shelton.
A public visitation will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at the same location. Heath Funeral Home is located at 321 West Garland, Paragould, Arkansas.
