The fundraiser was created by May Yeates, who identified herself as Lydia’s varsity volleyball coach and a fellow parent.

In the campaign description, Yeates described Lydia as a bright and talented student at LLCS who excelled both academically and athletically. She noted that Lydia was known for her dedication in the classroom and on the volleyball court, where she brought enthusiasm, kindness, and team spirit to those around her.

The coach said Lydia’s passing has left a significant void within the school community and among everyone who knew her.

The fundraiser also highlighted Nicole Wilson’s longstanding support of the volleyball program and the local community. Organizers expressed hope that donations would help ease the financial burden facing the family during an extraordinarily difficult time. As of the latest update, the campaign had raised more than $17,000 from over 150 donors.
