Zombies 4: Original Cast Bids Farewell, New Stars Take Over

The Zombies franchise has been a wild ride for Disney fans. Hard to believe it’s been over seven years since we first met Zed and Addison. Now, Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires is about to drop, and the original cast knows this one really is goodbye.

How Did Zombies 4 Become the Final Chapter?

When the third film wrapped back in 2022, Meg Donnelly really thought she was done playing Addison. She says she bawled her eyes out at the end of Zombies 3 because it felt like the end of an era. She never expected to step back on set one more time. So when Zombies 4 came calling, it felt like a second chance to say goodbye.

This time around, the energy on set felt different. Meg says it wasn’t so much about her and Milo anymore. It was about the new kids stepping in to pick up the torch. She talks about watching them rehearse and get excited and nervous all at once. It reminded her of when she was new. She calls it a big sister moment, seeing the next generation ready to run with it.

Milo Manheim agrees. He admits that even though Zed’s story feels wrapped up, his heart is still in the Zombies world. He loved watching the newcomers get their shot. Casting them made him realize how strong the franchise can be in new hands.

Why Did Chandler Kinney Get Nostalgic?

Chandler Kinney joined later than Meg and Milo, but she’s just as attached. She remembers her first big table read. Now, she watches new faces light up with the same mix of excitement and nerves.

Chandler says filming Zombies always felt like summer camp. The kind of place where you figure out who you are, mess up, learn, and grow up with people who feel like family. For her, those summers shaped the actor she is today. She was just 18 when she started. Now, she’s 25 and carrying every lesson forward.

What Did The Cast Learn From Each Other?

Meg says Milo taught her a lot. She talks about how he makes everyone feel seen. She tries to be more like that too. They grew up together on these sets. They’ve shared awkward phases, big moments, and the kind of inside jokes only co-stars understand.

Chandler feels the same about her own character, Willa. Playing a fierce werewolf forced her to find her voice, both on-screen and off. She says Willa helped her learn to stand her ground and speak up for what she believes in. That confidence isn’t something you just drop when you leave a set.

What Message Do The Zombies Movies Leave Behind?

It’s easy to think Zombies is just a fun monster musical for kids, but Milo believes the message runs deeper. He says the films show how fear can push people to make bad choices. It’s also about love and acceptance, and how rules don’t always mean what’s right.

Milo likes that these movies remind people, especially young ones, to stay true to themselves. But he thinks the message hits for grown-ups too. Everyone needs to hear that love and kindness matter.

How Are They Helping the New Cast?

Milo and Meg aren’t totally stepping away. They’re both executive producers on the new film. They want to help the franchise keep going strong. Behind the camera, they’re sticking around to make sure Zombies keeps its heart, even as new stories get told.

Seeing the new cast get emotional at wrap made it all real for them. Meg says watching the kids cry happy tears took her back to her own first wrap party. It felt like closing a circle.

Chandler talks about the exact same thing. She’d see the new cast talk about their scenes, their costumes, their nerves, and remember herself doing the same. That full-circle moment makes saying goodbye easier for her too.

When Can Fans Watch The New Zombies Movie?

Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires hits Disney Channel on July 10. If you’d rather stream, it drops on Disney+ the next day, July 11. Some familiar faces will pop up, but a whole new crew is stepping forward to tell the next chapter.

Even though Zed and Addison’s story is wrapping up, the Zombies world keeps growing. And the OG cast? They’re not really leaving. They’re just making space for new monsters, new songs, and new kids to find their summer camp magic too.

The franchise started with a cheerleader and a zombie trying to fit in. Now, it’s got vampires and a brand-new generation ready to break more rules. And the old crew will be there to cheer them on from the sidelines, maybe with a tear or two.
