YouTuber Bradley Martyn Loses Pinky Finger in Dirt Bike Accident
Popular fitness YouTuber Bradley Martyn is recovering after a dirt bike mishap on August 13 left him without most of his pinky finger. The 35-year-old content creator was loading his bike onto a truck when the freak accident happened.
How It Happened
In a video shared with fans, Bradley explained that he and a friend were lifting the bike into the truck when his pinky got caught.
“Typically I could just lift the bike up into the back of the truck with me and a buddy. My pinky was hanging off just enough, and as we went ‘1-2-3 go up,’ I felt almost like a snap. I looked at my hand and saw my bone,” he recalled.
Bradley described seeing the “white bone” jutting forward, and then noticed the severed part of his pinky resting on a metal part of the bike. He immediately told his friend they had to get to the hospital.
Surgery Not an Option
Although Bradley said the injury “wasn’t super painful,” doctors told him they couldn’t reattach the finger. “They basically cut off a centimeter away from the cuticle,” he said, adding that he still has the bottom of his cuticle and a small portion of his nail.
According to him, if more of the finger had been taken off, surgeons might have been able to reattach it.
