Wicked: For Good Trailer Premieres in Theaters June 4 with Special One-day Screenings

Wicked fans, get ready. This Wednesday, June 4, a special cinematic event is bringing Oz back to the big screen—along with something fans have been dying to see. Select theaters across North America will be screening Wicked once again for one night only, and those lucky enough to attend will also be the first to watch the official trailer for Wicked: For Good, the much-anticipated second chapter of the two-part film adaptation.

Whether you’re in New York, L.A., Chicago, or somewhere in between, you’ll be able to watch the trailer live with the rest of the country. Screenings will take place simultaneously across time zones: 6 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. CT, 4 p.m. MT, and 3 p.m. PT. And if you can’t make it to a theater? Don’t worry—the trailer will go live online immediately afterward for everyone to see.

The Story So Far: Elphaba and Glinda on Diverging Paths

Wicked: For Good picks up right where part one left off. Elphaba (played by Cynthia Erivo) has just flown into legend, escaping the clutches of the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) and Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh). She’s now a fugitive, blamed for everything that’s gone wrong in Oz, thanks to some carefully crafted lies.

Meanwhile, Glinda (Ariana Grande) stays behind, choosing political power and public favor over friendship. She’s still with Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), and now serves as the public voice for the Wizard’s regime.

The second film dives deeper into the fallout. Elphaba continues her mission to protect the animals of Oz, now hunted as a criminal. Glinda’s loyalty is tested, and lines between “good” and “wicked” blur more than ever before.

Why the Trailer Drop Is Such a Big Deal

It’s not just a trailer. For many fans of Wicked—both the Broadway show and the first film—it’s a milestone. This trailer marks the first real look at how the final act of the story will unfold on screen. And if the first movie’s critical and box office success are any indication, this final chapter could be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year.
