Who Is Amber Heard? Aquaman Actress Welcomes Twins and Begins New Chapter
On Sunday, May 11, Amber Heard made a joyful announcement that took fans by surprise. The Aquaman actress revealed that she had given birth to twins, a boy and a girl, making her a proud mother of three. The milestone happened on Mother’s Day, making the moment even more meaningful.
Heard, now 39, shared on Instagram that she named her new son Ocean and her daughter Agnes. She is already mom to Oonagh Paige, who turned 4 in April.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE, a representative for Heard confirmed,
“Amber is delighted to welcome the twins and complete her family. Mama and babies are enjoying every minute. And Oonagh is happily running the show.”
From Single Motherhood to a Complete Family
Amber Heard first became a mother in 2021, when she introduced the world to her daughter Oonagh. At the time, she expressed how much the decision meant to her and emphasized that she chose to become a mother “on [her] own terms.”
This latest announcement about her twins reflects Heard’s deep desire to grow her family and create a stable, loving environment for her children.
In her Instagram caption, she wrote:
“This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I’ve strived to build for years.”
A Fresh Chapter After Legal Battles
Amber Heard’s journey into peaceful motherhood follows years of intense media scrutiny and legal turmoil, particularly related to her former marriage to actor Johnny Depp.
The two parted ways in 2016, but legal disputes reignited in 2018 after Heard published an op-ed in The Washington Post, where she described herself as a survivor of domestic abuse. Though she didn’t name Depp, he filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit, claiming the piece damaged his career.
The high-profile trial in 2022 ended with the jury siding with Johnny Depp. They concluded that Heard’s claims were untrue and had been made with actual malice. Depp was awarded $10 million in compensatory and $5 million in punitive damages.
Despite the legal outcome, Heard has since shifted her focus entirely toward her personal life and healing.
A Life Away from the Spotlight
Following the conclusion of the trial, Amber Heard moved to Madrid, Spain, seeking a quieter and more private life. There, she found the space she needed to raise her daughter and rebuild.
In a June 2022 interview with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, Heard explained how much motherhood meant to her:
“I get to be a mom, like, full time, you know? Where I’m not having to juggle calls with lawyers.”
By 2023, filmmaker Conor Allyn, who directed Heard in In the Fire, told PEOPLE that she was thriving.
“She’s living her best life in Spain with her daughter and just finding happiness in that way,” he said. “She’s such a dedicated mom.”
