Where Is Ozzy Osbourne Now? What’s Next For The Prince Of Darkness?

Ozzy Osbourne has lived one of the wildest rock lives anyone can think of. Decades of heavy metal, endless tours, and stories nobody else could pull off. But in recent years, the man who gave us “Crazy Train” and led Black Sabbath through the halls of rock history has been facing a much different fight.

In 2020, Ozzy told the world about his Parkinson’s diagnosis. He said it wasn’t a death sentence, just something he’d live with. True Ozzy style. He brushed it off like it was no big deal — just another bump in a life full of them.

Fans were shocked but also not surprised. Ozzy has always been open about his body taking a beating. Years ago, he survived a nasty ATV crash. He’s had countless surgeries since. When he fell at home in 2019, it made things even worse. Surgeries on his neck, infections, bad recoveries — it felt like every time he got up, life knocked him down again.

How Did Ozzy’s Last Show Happen?

Even with all that, Ozzy did what Ozzy does best. He kept showing up. In August 2022, he got on stage at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Fans lost their minds seeing him with Tony Iommi again. But that wasn’t the end.

On July 5, Ozzy played his final Black Sabbath show. Over 40,000 people came out to see him one more time. Celebs like Jason Momoa and Steven Tyler were there too, proving Ozzy’s fan club runs deep. He couldn’t stand for long, so they brought in a throne — bat wings and all. Ozzy sitting down on stage still feels more metal than most people standing up.

He worked with a trainer to get ready. He hadn’t done real physical work in years but said he’d do whatever it took. Ozzy being Ozzy — stubborn, tough, and dead set on giving fans what they wanted.

What Does Ozzy Say About The Future?

When Ozzy talks about his diagnosis, you hear the working-class kid come through. He hates not doing his job. Hates seeing his family pick up the slack. He’s spent his whole life giving people a show, and stepping back hasn’t been easy.

On Good Morning America, he got honest. He said he felt useless when everyone else kept busy and he couldn’t contribute. For someone who’s built an entire empire off the back of his voice and chaos, sitting still is torture.

But he’s also pretty chill about life now. In a Rolling Stone chat last year, he guessed he’s got about a decade left. He called it “borrowed time” and laughed about how lucky he is to still be here. He and Sharon have been through every high and low you can think of. And somehow, they’re still together — and still tough as ever.

Ozzy’s back home in Buckinghamshire now. Their house has been getting a big makeover so he can live more comfortably. Sharon said they’re done with tours, shows, and schedules. They want to wake up and do what they feel like, not what the world wants them to do. After everything Ozzy’s given us, that feels fair.

Is Ozzy Really Done With Music?

So is this really it? No more surprise gigs? No more secret shows? Sharon says yes. She told Billboard this year that his “Back to the Beginning” show really was the end. No more final tours. No more comebacks. They’re done.

For fans, it’s bittersweet. But Ozzy’s not someone who fades away. His music still blasts through speakers all over the world. New generations keep discovering him. And the man himself? He’ll always be the Prince of Darkness — even if he’s just sitting in his garden, telling stories only he could tell.
