A Different Kind of Way to Win at the Track
How to Succeed in the Horseracing Game
Horse racing may be languishing when it comes to on-track attendance. However, some devotees still love the sport of kings. And one of the best ways to enjoy horse racing is through the horse race game.
It’s a simulated horse racing game and can be as simple as buying a version or trying to build your own as part of a team – stable? – event. Either way, you choose, the horse racing game provides a lot of fun.
How to Play the Horse Race Game?
The first piece is to find a table with enough space to not only hold the game but also allow the players room to roll dice. That’s important for the comfort and ability to play correctly.
The finish line horse racing game involves wagering. What fun would a horse race be if there was no betting? To make things simple and more effective one can use poker chips, coins, or dollars for the betting currency. Just like in a slots game, the excitement of the horse race game comes from the anticipation of a potential win, though in this case, it’s tied to the roll of the dice rather than the spin of the reels.
Place the “horses” at the starting gate. You will need a deck of cards. Remove the Aces, Kings, and Jokers. That should leave you with 44 cards. Then, the dice come into play. Roll, roll, roll them, and the total leads you to what horse is scratched.
There are 11 numbered horses so if you can get a big field of players together it would mean everyone would receive four cards.
Yes, there are scratches in the horse racing game. How much more realistic can one ask?
What Are Horse Race Game Rules?
Okay, now that we are ready to spring the gates and start the race, there are eight rounds for the game. The goal is to have the most money after the race/game is over.
Deal the cards to the players. Then the person whose turn it is rolls the dice. Whatever horse’s number matches the total moves forward. This continues – with betting – until one horse crosses the finish line.
You can do any amount of rounds you choose. Eight is suggested as a max but you can easily have the bettering conclude after one race.
The way a winner is determined is by the number of horses that cross the finish line first. Say you have a six in your hand, and the six horses cross the finish line ahead of the others. That means every player with a six in their hand of cards is a winner.
You can decide to simply split the pot between the players with a six or the corresponding winning horse number or continue to the next race on the card.
Does the Horse Race Game Have an End?
The horse race game ends after as many races/rounds as were predetermined. The player who winds up with the highest number is the winner and gets whatever is in the betting pot. If there is a tie after eight or however many races, you can run an extra race to see who comes away with the riches.
