Vince Gilligan’s New Sci-Fi Show ‘Pluribus’ With Rhea Seehorn Gets Premiere Date – First Look Revealed

Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, is back with a brand-new series for Apple TV+. His upcoming sci-fi dramedy, Pluribus, starring Rhea Seehorn, is officially set to premiere on Friday, November 7. The first season will feature eight episodes, with new episodes dropping every Friday until December 26.

What Is Pluribus About?

Described as a genre-bending original, Pluribus follows “the most miserable person on Earth,” who must save the world from happiness. Alongside Rhea Seehorn, the series also stars Karolina Wydra (Sneaky Pete) and Carlos-Manuel Vesga (Donde Tú Quieras). Guest stars include Miriam Shor (American Fiction) and Samba Schutte (Our Flag Means Death).

Apple TV+ first announced the show with a two-season order back in 2022. Now, fans are getting their first look with a teaser video and a brand-new photo of Seehorn’s character.

First Look Teaser Goes Viral

The teaser video introduces viewers to the strange and darkly funny world of Pluribus. In one scene, a woman deliberately licks every donut in a box before placing them back on a communal table, leaving an awkward sign that reads, “Help yourself! ;)” This odd, uncomfortable humor sets the tone for what the show has in store.

Vince Gilligan on Rhea Seehorn’s Role

Gilligan, who wrote Pluribus with Seehorn in mind, recently spoke about her character while receiving the WGA West’s prestigious Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television Writing Achievement earlier this year.
“I’m excited for audiences to see Rhea play a very different character than she did on Better Call Saul,” Gilligan shared. “She’s trying hard to be good, but she’s also a damaged hero. She’s just the best to work with – sweet, kind, and incredibly talented. I can’t say enough good about her.”

Rhea Seehorn on Working With Gilligan

Seehorn also teased what viewers can expect. “I can’t wait for people to see this show,” she said. “Vince has created something that mixes rich characters with unexpected tonal shifts – dark humor, emotional depth, and moments that are thought-provoking yet hilarious. It really pushes boundaries, and I had so much fun filming it.”

Who’s Behind the Scenes?

Pluribus is produced by Sony Pictures Television. Vince Gilligan serves as executive producer alongside Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski, and Jeff Frost. Jenn Carroll and Trina Siopy are co-executive producers.

With its unusual premise, a talented cast, and Gilligan’s track record for creating groundbreaking shows, Pluribus is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated new series of 2024.
