Téa Leoni and Tim Daly Tie the Knot in Private New York Ceremony

Téa Leoni and Tim Daly are officially husband and wife. The beloved Madam Secretary co-stars turned real-life couple tied the knot in a quiet ceremony in New York, with only their closest family members present. Leoni’s rep confirmed the news, keeping the details intimate and personal — just like their relationship has always been.

Leoni, 59, and Daly, 69, met back in 2014 while filming the CBS political drama Madam Secretary. Onscreen, they played married couple Elizabeth and Henry McCord for six seasons. Offscreen, their bond grew quietly and naturally. By December 2014, it was confirmed they were dating, though many fans and even their castmates didn’t see it coming.

Their romance began just months after Leoni finalized her divorce from actor David Duchovny in August 2014. She and Daly kept things low-key, avoiding the usual Hollywood fanfare.

When did they go public with their relationship?

While the couple mostly stayed out of the spotlight, they made a public appearance together in April 2015 at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. That night, they were joined by Bob Schieffer and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. It made for quite the photo — a political drama cast seated with real political figures.

At the event, Daly cracked a joke about the star power at their table, saying, “We’re gonna be a hot table.” That night marked the first time many realized their onscreen chemistry had become something real.

Their Madam Secretary co-star Geoffrey Arend later shared that even the cast hadn’t known for sure. “I heard a rumor about it, and everyone was like, ‘No, no way!’” he told PEOPLE in 2015. “Now I think we’re all really protective.” Arend also gave his blessing, saying, “Tim’s the best — they’re really good together.”

How did their relationship stay so grounded?

Leoni and Daly always kept things focused on the personal, not the press. No over-the-top headlines. No big announcements. Just real connection, built over years of working together and staying out of the spotlight.

They’ve shared the screen, shared red carpet moments, and now, they’ve shared vows. It’s a quiet ending to one chapter, and a sweet beginning to another — not on set, but in real life.
