Sutton Stracke vs. Dorit Kemsley: The Wallet Comment That Shook RHOBH

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” has always been about glitz, glamour, and just the right amount of drama. But when Sutton Stracke dropped a comment about Dorit Kemsley’s “wallet” during an argument, it set off a firestorm. Now, Stracke’s close friend Jennifer Tilly is setting the record straight, saying Sutton felt bad about it. But does that change anything? Let’s dive into the drama, the aftermath, and what it all really means.

Sutton Stracke vs. Dorit Kemsley: The Wallet Comment That Shook RHOBH

The moment unfolded during the now-infamous Caftans and Caviar luncheon, where Sutton and Dorit found themselves in a heated argument. As things escalated, Sutton hit Dorit with, “You need to pick on somebody else whose wallet fits.” When Erika Jayne asked if Sutton thought she was bigger than Dorit, Sutton didn’t hesitate: “I think my wallet is.”

Ouch.

This wasn’t just any jab—it was a direct hit on finances, an unwritten taboo even in the Real Housewives universe. But while Sutton’s comment made for must-see TV, Jennifer Tilly insists the moment was edited to make her friend look worse than she actually felt.

Jennifer Tilly Defends Sutton: “She Instantly Regretted It”

During a February 25 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Jennifer Tilly, a longtime friend of Sutton, defended her, claiming that Sutton wasn’t trying to be superior to Dorit. Instead, she felt awful the second the words left her mouth.

“In fact, when she said it there was a stricken look on her face,” Tilly explained. “They probably edited it out because they wanted her to look like the bad guy.”

Sutton was apparently so guilt-ridden that she even considered making peace with Dorit in the most Housewife way possible—by gifting her a luxury handbag.

“She was actually thinking of giving Dorit her purse,” Tilly said. “She was like… ‘Maybe I should give her my Kelly bag to make up for it.’”

Yes, a Hermès Kelly mini handbag was almost offered as a truce. Because in Beverly Hills, apologies come in high fashion.

Sutton Stracke’s Wealth & Background: A Look Inside Her “Bigger Wallet”

Sutton Stracke, 52, isn’t just a reality TV personality—she’s a bonafide socialite, businesswoman, and fashion connoisseur. She built her fortune through her divorce from ex-husband Christian Stracke, a hedge fund manager at PIMCO. Reports estimate her net worth to be around $50 million as of 2025.

Aside from her wealth, Sutton is also a dedicated mother to her three children—Porter, Philip, and James. And despite her Real Housewives drama, she runs a successful boutique, Sutton Concept, which specializes in high-end fashion and art.

Dorit Kemsley, 48, isn’t exactly struggling either, with an estimated net worth of $10 million. Married to businessman PK Kemsley, she’s made a name for herself in the fashion industry with her Beverly Beach by Dorit swimwear line.

While both women enjoy the luxuries of Beverly Hills, the financial gap between them has now become a storyline—and Dorit isn’t amused.

Did Dorit Really Care About the Comment?

Surprisingly, Sutton later claimed that she didn’t think the comment even bothered Dorit, suggesting that she might not have been listening when it was said.

However, Dorit had a response ready in a later RHOBH After Show episode. “I’m not gonna lie,” she admitted. “I didn’t love it. But Sutton says things sometimes, and you just have to move on.”

And let’s not forget—Dorit has already joked about getting Sutton’s Kelly bag in a previous episode. During a Fourth of July party at Sutton’s home, Dorit playfully grabbed the handbag and quipped, “That’s so kind of you… I think you owe it to me!”

In a confessional, she even joked, “Honestly, I’d be prepared to forget about most things Sutton has said or done if she just gives me this handbag.”

So, was she truly offended, or is this just another Housewives rivalry that will fizzle out?

Where Do Sutton & Dorit Go From Here?

If there’s one thing we know about The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, it’s that grudges rarely disappear overnight. While Sutton may have felt immediate regret, the damage was done, and the drama is now a staple of Season 13.

With new episodes airing every Wednesday on Bravo, fans will have to wait and see if Sutton’s Hermès peace offering ever makes it to Dorit—or if this drama will carry on into the next season. Either way, one thing’s for sure: the “wallet war” is far from over.

What do you think? Did Sutton cross the line, or was this just another moment of reality TV gold? Let’s discuss in the comments!
