San Angelo Painting Business Owner, Jorge Perez, Passes Away, Leaves Behind Young Daughter and Grieving Family

The San Angelo community is grieving the sudden and unexpected passing of Jorge Perez, a local man whose warm spirit and ever-present smile left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path. News of his death spread quickly through social media, with family members and friends sharing heartfelt tributes honoring a life that touched many.

His cousin Martin Sanchez was among the first to break the news publicly, posting a tribute on Facebook that captured the shock and sorrow felt across two families.

“Rest in Peace Primo,” he wrote, adding that the loss was enormous for everyone connected to Jorge. “I would have never thought this could have happened. We love you and will miss you dearly.”

The post quickly drew an outpouring of condolences from people across the community who knew Jorge personally or through family connections.

Jorge was known for his easy laugh, his ability to make people feel welcome, and the kind of energy that made gatherings feel alive. A friend, Diana Mendez, summed it up simply in her own tribute. She wrote that if you ever saw Jorge, you immediately felt the vibes.

She described him as a great man gone way too soon, always smiling and just having a good time. Lance Fiedler echoed that sentiment, remembering Jorge as someone who always made people laugh and whose presence was something special.

A Family Left Heartbroken, a Community Rallying Around Them

Jorge is survived by his parents, his siblings Beba and Eric, his in-laws, nieces, nephews, and his young daughter. Martin Sanchez asked friends and followers to keep the entire Perez family in their prayers during this devastating time, especially Jorge’s mother and father, who are facing the unimaginable grief of losing a child.

Beyond his family life, Jorge was a working man in San Angelo who owned and operated Perez Painting. He was proud of the business he built and was known in the community not just as a friendly face but as someone who showed up and put in the work.

The outpouring of support from the community was immediate. Comments flooded in from neighbors, old friends, and extended family members offering prayers and condolences to both the Perez and Sanchez families.

Joe Guerra wrote that he knew how close the family was and what Jorge meant to everyone around him. Others simply offered prayers, noting that words felt inadequate in the face of such a sudden loss.

Funeral arrangements were announced by Martin Sanchez in the days following Jorge’s passing. A viewing was held at Gutierrez Funeral Home at 1002 N. Oaks in San Angelo on June 2, 2026, beginning at 1:30 p.m., with a Rosary following at 6:30 p.m. Church services were held the following morning, Wednesday, June 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., with burial at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Jorge Perez was a man who made his presence felt wherever he went. San Angelo lost one of its own, and the love pouring in from his community is a reflection of the life he lived.
