Russian Model and Former Miss Universe Contestant Kseniya Alexandrova Dies After Freak Elk Crash

Tragedy has struck the modeling world. Kseniya Alexandrova, a Russian model and former Miss Universe contestant, has died at the age of 30 after suffering severe brain injuries in a freak car accident involving an elk.

The Accident

The crash happened on July 5 while Alexandrova was driving with her husband through Tver Oblast, Russia. According to Russian outlet RIA, the couple was returning home from Rzhev when an elk suddenly jumped into the road on the M9 highway.

The animal smashed through the windshield of their Porsche Panamera, leaving Alexandrova critically injured. She was rushed to the hospital and placed in a coma but sadly died on August 12 from her injuries.

Her husband, who has not been named, said there was no time to react. “From the moment it jumped out to the impact, a split second passed. I didn’t have time to do anything,” he told reporters, adding that they were both wearing seatbelts and driving slowly.

Alexandrova, who was sitting in the passenger seat, suffered a devastating head injury when the elk burst through the windshield. “She was unconscious, her head was fractured, everything was covered in blood. The frontal bones of the skull were broken – it was an open cranial-brain injury,” her husband said.

A Life Cut Short

The couple had been married just four months before the accident, as shown on her Instagram. Beyond modeling, Alexandrova was also a trained psychologist, having earned her degree from Moscow Pedagogical State University.

She rose to fame in 2017 when she represented Russia in the Miss Universe pageant after placing second in Miss Russia earlier that year.

Remembering Kseniya Alexandrova

Her modeling agency, Modus Vivendis, confirmed her death on Instagram on August 13. In their tribute, they described her as “bright [and] talented” and someone who knew how to “inspire, support and give warmth to everyone who was around.”

The agency added, “For us, she will forever remain a symbol of beauty, kindness and inner strength.”
