Rod Wave Arrested Again: What Really Happened in Fulton County?
Rod Wave, the chart-topping rapper known for his emotional lyrics and soulful voice, found himself in legal trouble once again. On Tuesday, May 20, he was arrested and taken into custody in Fulton County, Georgia. Reports say he’s facing several serious charges, but the exact details behind his arrest remain unclear.
Let’s take a closer look at the case, what people are saying on social media, and his past legal run-ins that continue to follow him.
The Charges Against Rod Wave: What We Know So Far
Rod Wave, whose real name is Rodarius Marcell Green, was hit with a long list of charges after being taken into custody. According to the initial reports, he’s facing:
- Aggravated assault
- Possession of a firearm during a felony
- Pointing a gun at another person
- Criminal damage to property
- Reckless conduct
- Tampering with evidence
Soon after the news broke, social media started buzzing with rumors. Some claimed that Rod had fired shots at his girlfriend Mini Barbie’s car. However, there is no official report confirming those claims. As of now, what exactly happened before the arrest hasn’t been revealed.
Despite the seriousness of the charges, Rod was released the same day. Reports say he posted surety bonds and was set free within hours. That quick release has led many fans to believe the situation might not be as straightforward as it seems.
Did Rod Wave Really Shoot at Mini Barbie’s Car?
The big question on everyone’s mind: did Rod Wave shoot at Mini Barbie or her car? While the rumor spread fast on social media, there’s currently no evidence or official statement confirming it.
The charges do mention firearm possession and assault, but none specifically mention Mini Barbie or name a victim in connection to the shooting rumor. As of now, those rumors remain just that—rumors.
A History of Legal Trouble Follows Rod Wave
This isn’t the first time Rod has faced the law. Over the past few years, he’s had several encounters with police and the court system.
In May 2022, Rod was arrested in his hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was charged with felony battery by strangulation. Police arrested him just after midnight, and he was booked into the Pinellas County jail. The charge, however, was later dropped.
Then in 2024, Rod was again arrested—this time in Manatee County, Florida. Police suspected he was connected to a gang-related shooting that left four people wounded on March 31 of that year. He was accused of being a felon in possession of a weapon or ammunition.
Rod’s legal team, including attorneys Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin, strongly denied those allegations. In a public statement, they wrote:
“Rod was arrested and detained with absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing. The police claimed he was a felon in possession of ammunition. Not only was he not in possession of ammunition, a basic check of public records would have easily demonstrated to the police that he was not a convicted felon.”
According to them, both the judge and the prosecutor found no supporting evidence for the charges and released him the same day.
