Rapper Kevin Gates’ Wife Files for Divorce Just Before 10-Year Anniversary — Cites ‘Irreconcilable Differences’

Looks like it’s officially over between rapper Kevin Gates and his longtime partner Dreka Gates. After nearly a decade of marriage, Dreka has filed for divorce, marking the end of their 9-year union.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Dreka headed to court on Wednesday and filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. She listed July 10 as the official date of separation.

Kevin and Dreka, who once worked together professionally with Dreka managing his career, share two children — 12-year-old daughter Islah and 11-year-old son Khaza. In the filing, Dreka is asking for joint legal and physical custody of both kids.

Dreka is also seeking spousal support and, interestingly, has requested the court not allow Kevin to receive any spousal support in return. Whether or not the couple had a prenuptial agreement remains unclear at this point.

The two tied the knot in October 2015, so the divorce filing comes just months before what would have been their 10th wedding anniversary.

As of now, Kevin Gates has chosen to stay silent on the matter. A rep for the rapper told media outlets that he is “unfortunately” not making any public statements at this time.
