Ramayana Teaser: A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer Join Forces for Epic Soundtrack

Hans Zimmer doing a mythological epic like Ramayana? That’s huge on its own. His soundtracks for Interstellar, Inception, Gladiator — they all have this giant, soul-shaking feel. He knows how to make music that lifts scenes right off the screen. Now imagine that same energy, but woven into the world of Rama, Sita, and Ravana.

How Did Rahman And Zimmer Come Together?

The idea of Rahman and Zimmer working side by side feels like a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Rahman is already a global name. He brought India an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire. He’s the reason so many people hum Jai Ho even now. His roots are deep in Indian classical, but he knows how to fuse it with the modern.

The cast is stacked. Ranbir Kapoor as Rama feels spot on — he has that calm presence mixed with steel. Sai Pallavi brings grace and strength to Sita. Yash as Ravana might just steal scenes — if you’ve seen KGF, you know he can command a screen like no one else. Then there’s Sunny Deol as Hanuman, which sounds wild but kind of perfect too.

The makers didn’t stop at the cast or the music. This film’s got scale written all over it. They’re shooting on IMAX cameras. VFX is by DNEG, the same team behind Dune and other Oscar-winners. The action? It’s in safe hands with Terry Notary and Guy Norris, the guys who made apes look human in Planet of the Apes and gave us those dusty fights in Mad Max: Fury Road.

It’s all big, all bold. The teaser closes with a line that hits home — Our Truth. Our History. That’s what’s pulling people in. The makers promise reverence. They promise spectacle. But with Rahman and Zimmer together, they also promise a sound we probably haven’t heard before.
