Ramayana Teaser: A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer Join Forces for Epic Soundtrack

Nitesh Tiwari just gave everyone a reason to circle Diwali 2026 on their calendar. The teaser for his Ramayana dropped on July 3, and it’s not just the visuals that people are buzzing about. It’s the music. When you see two legends like A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer sharing space on a project, you know something big is coming.

Hans Zimmer doing a mythological epic like Ramayana? That’s huge on its own. His soundtracks for Interstellar, Inception, Gladiator — they all have this giant, soul-shaking feel. He knows how to make music that lifts scenes right off the screen. Now imagine that same energy, but woven into the world of Rama, Sita, and Ravana.

How Did Rahman And Zimmer Come Together?

The idea of Rahman and Zimmer working side by side feels like a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Rahman is already a global name. He brought India an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire. He’s the reason so many people hum Jai Ho even now. His roots are deep in Indian classical, but he knows how to fuse it with the modern.

Zimmer’s vibe is grand orchestras and mind-bending synths. Rahman’s vibe is tabla, veena, bhajans that hit your soul. Put those two together and you get a soundtrack that could feel ancient and futuristic at the same time.

The teaser hints at this too. It opens on the divine trinity — Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva — and then rolls out the timeless battle of Rama versus Ravana. You can almost hear how Zimmer’s heavy organ chords might blend with Rahman’s haunting Indian vocals. If they pull it off, this could be a score that stays with audiences for decades.

Who’s Bringing This Epic To Life?

The cast is stacked. Ranbir Kapoor as Rama feels spot on — he has that calm presence mixed with steel. Sai Pallavi brings grace and strength to Sita. Yash as Ravana might just steal scenes — if you’ve seen KGF, you know he can command a screen like no one else. Then there’s Sunny Deol as Hanuman, which sounds wild but kind of perfect too.

The makers didn’t stop at the cast or the music. This film’s got scale written all over it. They’re shooting on IMAX cameras. VFX is by DNEG, the same team behind Dune and other Oscar-winners. The action? It’s in safe hands with Terry Notary and Guy Norris, the guys who made apes look human in Planet of the Apes and gave us those dusty fights in Mad Max: Fury Road.

It’s all big, all bold. The teaser closes with a line that hits home — Our Truth. Our History. That’s what’s pulling people in. The makers promise reverence. They promise spectacle. But with Rahman and Zimmer together, they also promise a sound we probably haven’t heard before.

The wait is going to be long. Diwali 2026 for part one. Diwali 2027 for part two. But if the teaser is anything to go by, it’s going to be worth counting the days.
