Mister Miracle Animated Series Announced

Exciting news came out of the Annecy Animation Festival today. Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios revealed that a new adult animated series called Mister Miracle is officially in the works. This show is based on the well-loved 12-issue comic book series by Tom King and Mitch Gerads. Fans of the comics will be happy to hear that Tom King, who co-created the original series, will be the executive producer and showrunner for the show.

What We Know So Far

Details about where the show will air haven’t been shared yet, but the studios promise to give more information during an adult animation-themed event coming up on Friday. This series is the second adult animated show from Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios since DC Studios started in 2022, following the success of Creature Commandos, which is already heading into its second season on HBO Max.

Other animated projects on the horizon include Starfire!, My Adventures with Green Lantern, and DC Super Powers, so it’s clear these studios are investing a lot in adult animation.

The Story of Mister Miracle

The show follows Scott Free, better known as Mister Miracle, who is famous as the greatest escape artist alive. Alongside his wife, Big Barda, Scott seemed to have a perfect life on Earth. But things start falling apart when war breaks out between the planets Apocalypse and New Genesis. Scott’s adoptive father, Darkseid, has gotten hold of the Anti-Life Equation, a dangerous power that could control the whole universe.

As the battle intensifies, Mister Miracle stands as the last hope to bring peace. However, the Anti-Life Equation’s influence may be warping Scott’s mind and threatening the happiness he shares with Barda.
