Millie Bobby Brown is officially a mom. The Stranger Things star, 21, and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, 23, revealed on Instagram that they’ve adopted a baby girl.

“This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy,” Brown wrote in her post. She ended the message with a heartfelt line: “And then there were 3.”

A New Chapter After Marriage

Brown, who returns to Netflix on November 26 for the final season of Stranger Things, married Jake Bongiovi — son of legendary musician Jon Bon Jovi — in May 2024. The couple had a small private ceremony first, followed by a larger celebration in Italy later that year.

The actress has been open about wanting to start a family. In a March 2025 episode of the SmartLess podcast with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes, Brown spoke about her dreams of motherhood. “I’m still really young, but my mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. It’s been my thing since before I met Jake,” she shared.

She also credited her mother and grandmother as role models. “I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me and my grandmother is — she was a huge part of my life.”

Thoughts on Adoption

During the same podcast, Brown also reflected on adoption, hinting at her openness to the idea though she didn’t reveal immediate plans back then. “I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different as in adopting,” she explained. “For me, my home is full of love for anyone and anything, and that is what we stand by, Jake and I — our energy in the house is like, ‘The door is always open.’”

Breaking the Norm

While the couple hasn’t shared further details about their adoption, their decision stands out because of their young age. According to the National Council for Adoption, the average age of parents who pursue infant adoption is around 35, with most being married and financially established.

Still, for Brown and Bongiovi, it seems love and commitment mattered most. With their announcement, the young couple is beginning a new journey together — this time as parents.
