Meet the McBee Family: How Bravo’s Real American Cowboys Stay Connected
When The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys landed on Bravo, plenty of folks tuned in for the ranch drama. But if you’re trying to figure out who’s who out on those Missouri fields, you’re not alone. This isn’t your average reality show. It’s family, farming, and a bit of scandal all rolled together.
The whole McBee saga starts with Steven “Steve” McBee. He’s the original head cowboy. Back in the late ‘90s, Steve built McBee Farm & Cattle from scratch, buying up land and raising his four boys to work hard. For decades, Steve and his then-wife Kristi ran the show together. But when they divorced in 2021, the family shifted in ways no one saw coming.
What Happened With Steve McBee?
Steve might have set up the McBee ranch, but his time on top ended messy. After a deal with his car washes crashed and burned during season 1, he stepped away from the ranch. And that’s when things really got tangled.
In November 2024, Steve pleaded guilty to a huge federal crop insurance fraud case. He admitted to faking numbers on corn and soybean crops, pulling in millions in false insurance payouts. The government says they lost over $4 million because of it. Steve could owe more than $3 million in restitution and is staring down a possible 30-year prison sentence. He’s waiting to find out how long he’ll actually serve when he’s sentenced in September 2025.
So with Steve gone, someone had to keep the ranch alive. That job fell to the next McBee in line — Steven Jr.
Who’s Running McBee Farm Now?
Steven McBee Jr. is the oldest of Steve and Kristi’s four sons. Fans first met him when he showed up on Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer in 2022. He didn’t exactly find a fairy tale ending there, but he did get some reality TV experience that’s helped him hold his own in front of Bravo’s cameras.
Steven Jr. stepped in when his dad bailed. He’s now CEO of McBee Farm & Cattle. He’s serious about keeping the ranch running — and about keeping his brothers in line. He’s often the one playing peacemaker when tempers flare in the family.
Who Are the Other McBee Brothers?
Jesse McBee is next in the lineup. Jesse’s life has been less about TV and more about building things — literally. He’s the head of construction at McBee Farm. Fans got a closer look at Jesse’s personal life too. He’s been with Alli Ventresca since high school. They got engaged on the season 1 finale and married in Missouri in October 2024. By April 2025, Jesse and Alli welcomed baby Summer, adding another generation to the McBee name.
Then there’s Cole McBee. He’s the farm’s manager and handles much of the daily work in the fields. Cole and his girlfriend, Kacie Adkison, became parents in December 2024 when their daughter Blair arrived. Unlike his older brothers, Cole keeps things pretty low-key on screen but is the guy making sure the farm stays productive.
The youngest McBee is Brayden. His story is a bit different. After the divorce, Brayden mostly lived with Kristi instead of staying on the ranch full-time. He helps out with his brothers but isn’t front and center on every episode. Last season, fans saw him navigating young love, but by season 2, he’s back to single life.
How Does Kristi Fit Into It All?
Kristi McBee might have stepped back when she and Steve split, but season 2 brought her back into the fold. With Steve gone and the ranch needing all hands, Kristi returned to help her boys keep things steady. She’s not shy about speaking up either. She spent nearly three decades building this family and the farm, so she’s got opinions about how things should run.
Add in Jesse’s wife Alli, now part of the McBee inner circle, and you’ve got a family that’s messy, loyal, and entertaining to watch as they juggle crops, cattle, and big personalities under the Missouri sun.
