Matt Rife and Elton Castee Buy Haunted House With Annabelle Doll
Comedian Matt Rife and YouTuber Elton Castee have officially taken their love for the paranormal to the next level. The duo revealed on social media that they’ve purchased the infamous Warren home in Monroe, Connecticut — the very house that holds the real-life Annabelle doll.
The doll became a horror icon thanks to The Conjuring franchise, which was inspired by the supernatural investigations of Ed and Lorraine Warren. Now, the spooky centerpiece of their haunted collection has a new caretaker.
In an Instagram post, Rife shared that he will be the legal guardian of the Annabelle doll, along with the rest of the Warrens’ eerie artifact collection, for at least the next five years. “If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted,” he wrote. “I’m incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history.”
Rife and Castee plan to open the home to the public. Their vision includes overnight stays, guided museum tours, and immersive experiences where guests can learn about the haunted history surrounding the building and the artifacts inside.
“This is something we’ve dreamed about doing for a long time,” Rife explained. “Now fans of the paranormal can step into the real story behind The Conjuring universe.”
The news comes just weeks after Dan Rivera, a well-known paranormal investigator and one of the handlers of the Annabelle doll, passed away suddenly, according to the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR). Rivera had long been associated with the doll and the museum, making this transition even more emotional for fans of the supernatural community.
Rife has openly shared his love for The Conjuring movies, calling them his favorite scary films. With this new chapter, he and Castee are looking to keep that ghostly legacy alive — and give the public a chance to experience it firsthand.
Haunted house lovers, horror fans, and thrill-seekers alike may soon have a new destination to add to their bucket list.
